We caught up with the brilliant and insightful LYNDSAY HOFFMAN a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi LYNDSAY, thanks for joining us today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
Picture this…
It’s October 2024.
Before anyone ever walked into LTH Beauty… before the room was finished… before the events, the community support, the pop-ups, the partnerships, the gratitude…
It was just me.
Sitting in my car after my last day at a job that had drained me for far too long. I remember gripping the steering wheel with equal parts fear and relief — knowing I was choosing myself, my family, and the future I had been dreaming about for years.
I walked away from the security of a full-time salary, benefits, and a predictable routine.
But I was walking toward something bigger:
A life where I could breathe again.
A business built with intention.
A space where women felt seen, cared for, and never rushed.
A future where my kids could say, “My mom built that.”
LTH Beauty wasn’t born out of convenience — it was born out of conviction.
I had a vision of creating an aesthetic practice that honored natural beauty, prioritized safety and education, and felt like home. A place where relationships mattered more than transactions. A place where I could pour all my expertise and all my heart into every client who trusted me.
I wanted more balance — to be present with my children, to see my son off to Windsor and my girls at KS, to have nights and weekends that weren’t controlled by someone else’s schedule. I wanted to show them what it looks like when a woman betters her life by betting on herself.
And yes… it was a massive risk.
Walking away from a toxic environment meant walking directly into the unknown.
There were nights I cried.
There were months where I wasn’t sure how everything would unfold.
There were moments when I questioned if I was crazy to start from scratch.
But then…
My first clients came.
Then their friends.
Then entire mom groups, communities, and referrals.
People believed in me — in Lyndsay, not just the services I provided.
And slowly, LTH Beauty became so much more than a business.
It became a symbol of courage, growth, and the life I was meant to create.
Today, when I unlock the spa door each morning, I’m reminded of that scared-but-brave woman in the car who chose to leap.
Because the truth is:
The biggest risk I ever took became the most beautiful chapter of my life.
And this is only the beginning.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
For readers who may not have met me yet, I’m Lyndsay Hoffman, a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and the founder of LTH Beauty Aesthetic & Wellness Co. in downtown Mount Prospect.
My journey into aesthetics wasn’t linear — it was born from years of clinical experience, a love for wellness, a deep appreciation for natural beauty, and a desire to create something more meaningful than the traditional healthcare and med-spa environments I had seen.
How I Got Into This Industry
I spent years in medicine and eventually worked in a private practice where I learned the hands-on skills of injectables, dermatologic treatments, and patient-centered aesthetics. But the environment was toxic and rigid, and I was constantly torn between being a clinician and being a mom.
In October 2024, after a lot of soul-searching, I made one of the biggest decisions of my life:
I left my full-time job, walked away from security, and chose to build LTH Beauty from the ground up.
I wanted a practice rooted in integrity, education, compassion, and real relationships — not rushed rooms, upselling, or cookie-cutter templates.
What LTH Beauty Provides

Every treatment plan I create is fully customized — never rushed, never pushed, and always centered around natural-looking, refined results.
What Problems I Solve for Clients
Most of my clients come to me because they want:
To look more rested and refreshed, not “done”
To trust their injector and feel heard
To receive education, not pressure
To address skin health, aging, or hair loss in a holistic way
To feel confident in their appearance
To experience care that feels personal, not transactional
I treat concerns like wrinkles, volume loss, skin texture, facial balancing, hormonal hair changes, and overall wellness — but on a deeper level, I help clients feel more aligned with themselves.
What Makes LTH Beauty Different
What sets my practice apart is the intention behind everything:
I prioritize natural beauty — I want your friends to ask why you look so refreshed, not what you had done.
I believe in education-first care — I explain anatomy, dosing, timing, and results so clients understand every choice.
I build long-term, trusted relationships — many clients feel like friends, and in many cases, they truly are.
My practice is community-rooted — built on mom referrals, local collaborations, pop-ups, and genuine connections.
I treat every client like family — meaning safety, honesty, and comfort always come first.
I’m always learning — continually attending advanced trainings to elevate my skills and stay ahead in the industry.
LTH Beauty is not a high-volume clinic — it’s a boutique, intentional space where quality, trust, and care matter most.
What I’m Most Proud Of
I’m proud of many milestones — growing to 45+ patients in the first months, hosting successful events, expanding into new services, and building partnerships.
But the thing I’m proudest of?
The courage it took to start.
Leaving a toxic environment, choosing myself, and creating a business that allows me to be both the mother and the practitioner I want to be.
I’m also proud that my children get to watch me build something meaningful — a business grounded in purpose, passion, and service.
What I Want Clients and Followers to Know
I want people to know that:
LTH Beauty was built with heart — not hustle.
You’re never “just another appointment” to me.
My goal is always enhancement, not alteration.
I’m committed to honesty, transparency, and realistic outcomes.
Wellness is just as important as aesthetics — they work together.
Your confidence and trust mean everything to me.
This business exists because of community — moms supporting moms, friends referring friends, and people believing in what I do.
Above all, I want potential clients to know that LTH Beauty is a place where you will feel cared for, understood, and seen.
Where you can soften without losing expression, enhance without changing who you are, and embrace beauty that still feels like you.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
It was the day I was unexpectedly terminated from my full-time job.
No matter how strong or experienced you are, losing a job — especially in a field you’ve dedicated years to — brings an immediate wave of fear, uncertainty, and self-doubt. I remember walking out of that building feeling like the rug had been pulled from underneath me. I had three kids to care for, a career I had worked so hard to build, and suddenly… everything felt uncertain.
But in that same moment, something else rose up inside me — something steadier and stronger than fear:
clarity.
Deep down, I had known for months that the environment I was in wasn’t aligned with who I was or the kind of care I wanted to provide. I was constantly torn between being a great clinician and being a present mother. My values didn’t match the pace, the pressure, or the culture around me. The termination wasn’t just an ending — it was the push I needed to choose the life and career I truly wanted.
Still, it didn’t make the next steps easy.
There was no safety net.
No plan already sketched out.
No perfect timing.
Just me — sitting in my car, heart racing, realizing I had two choices:
Break down… or build something better.
And that’s the moment my resilience took over.
Within days, I made the decision to create what had been living in my mind and heart for years — a practice rooted in integrity, compassion, education, and natural beauty. Something completely different from what I had experienced. Something I wished existed for both practitioners and clients.
That’s how LTH Beauty was born.
The early days were hard.
No guaranteed clients.
No roadmap.
Just a small room inside Splendid Day Spa and a dream.
But I showed up — every single day — even when I was scared, even when the schedule was empty, even when the self-doubt crept in.
And then something incredible happened:
The community came.
Mom groups.
Friends of friends.
People who resonated with my authenticity and my values.
Every new client felt like a tiny affirmation that I was building exactly what I was meant to build.
Looking back, being terminated didn’t break me.
It redirected me.
It forced me to step into the career — and the version of myself — I had been too afraid to pursue on my own.
That moment taught me that resilience isn’t about never falling.
It’s about trusting that when life shifts you off the path you’re on, you have the strength and the courage to create a better one.
And LTH Beauty is living proof of that.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been building genuine community connections — both online and in-person — and creating an experience that people naturally want to talk about.
Unlike high-volume clinics that rely heavily on advertising, my growth has been almost entirely organic. Here’s what made the biggest impact:
1. Word-of-Mouth Through Mom Communities
Local mom groups have been one of my strongest referrals — Windsor moms, Arlington Heights groups, school communities, and friends of friends. When one mom has a great experience, she tells five more. Their trust has built the foundation of my business.
2. Showing Up Consistently — Events, Pop-Ups & Collaborations
Partnering with local businesses — salons, boutiques, yoga studios, wellness centers — has been huge. Events like Botox, Blowouts & Bubbly, vitamin pop-ups, and community wellness nights allowed people to meet me, ask questions, and experience my care in a low-pressure setting.
People buy from providers they feel comfortable with, and events create that connection instantly.
3. Personal, Educational Social Media
My Instagram isn’t curated or overly scripted — it’s personal, educational, and authentic. I talk about techniques, expectations, skincare, safety, and real patient results.
Clients constantly tell me, “I felt like I already knew you before I even booked.”
4. Time and Intention in Each Appointment
I never rush. I never upsell. I educate.
That alone differentiates me in an industry where people often feel pressured or unheard.
Clients can feel the difference — and because of that, they come back and bring their friends.
5. Building Trust Through Follow-Up & Personalized Care
Every client receives follow-up messages, tailored treatment plans, and the reassurance that they can reach out with questions. That level of care makes people feel safe — and it’s the reason so many new clients say, “I’ve heard you really take your time and make people feel comfortable.”
6. Being Active in Facebook Groups
This has been massive for me. Answering questions, giving advice, sharing education — not selling, just helping — has consistently generated new connections and referrals. When I stay present in these groups, the leads naturally flow.
