We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Lynae Gregg a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Lynae, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your creative career sooner or later?
I wish I had taken risks and chances to pursue my creative and spiritual career sooner than later. I am grateful for the journey along the way but feel like it was necessary for me to learn the lessons and experiences that I did in order to gain more wisdom.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Peace my name is Lynae, I also go by Ivy. I am a Spiritual Life Coach/Holistic Advisor/Entertainer and Entrepreneur. I will admit I’m not quite sure where to start when it comes to describing and explaining myself and what got me started. A lot of different things got me going onto this current path as far as my artistry and creative journey as well as intertwined with the holistic and spiritual lifestyle and coaching that I give as well.
Music, art and healing these three things were introduced into my life as a child, each in different ways but all life changing and impactful ways. Musical and artistic expressions, my mother and father were my muse and where I learned how to create soulful melodies, poetry, written expression etc. I am a Soul Artist, I sing R&B, Neo soul and jazz music. I consider it Soul Music, music is another good food for the soul especially with the right frequencies. I’m working on creating music to help others overcome the darkness and stand in the truth and power. Inspired by the late Amazing MJ I want to help heal the world in any way I can.
I love what I do as a Spiritual Life Coach and Holistic Advisor! I have helped clients in various situations to assist with their healing, overcoming obstacles, assisting clients with embracing their inner strength and etc! There are many services I offer my clients to make sure they feel comfortable and are getting the attention and insight they may just need to receive in a safe place. Aromatherapy, Trauma and inner child healing, etc.
I also make products with the pure positive intentions, oils, candles, and more.
My mission is to remind everyone of the Phoenix within. We all have obstacles to overcome and battles we’ve won and lost but we made it through as a stronger person. Sometimes we just need a reminder that everyone has moments where they fall but it’s about how you rise up into your transformation!!
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
Like non-creatives would struggle to understand my perception of my creative journey. And I’m more than willing to share it, I feel as though spirituality music healing and art all play a part into each other I feel like everything works together cohesively whether we know it or not. Everyone and everything has their part to play no part is big or small that’s all that matter of being open to learning what you do not know. I say music speaks to the soul and it does; but then people wonder why when they listen to certain music that might hold a lower frequency and vibration while they feel depressed overwhelmed anxious angry rage and they listen to other kinds of music and it brings them peace solace comfort love healing. Now that’s the type of music I want to make the healing kind, there’s always has to be a balance but when you allow one to overtake the other without understanding even or realizing that you’re doing so it affects your mental health and the day to day life around you slowly but surely. I love to find out how to bring history, knowledgeable facts, and thought provoking topics into my creative space to learn more for myself and others. I genuinely appreciate those who might not fully understand my perception and process but are still open to sharing their own and being supportive as well!
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I honestly think that losing those closest to me my mother, my father and brother early. I had been on my own since 16 and I almost lost myself at one point but I had gained myself back. I’ve overcome abusive relationships, I am still working on overcoming my fears but I no longer shy away from admitting that. Through it all I’m still working on healing myself and becoming the best mother that I can for my son! Feel like we all have a phoenix within us that is a best friend to our resilience. I appreciate you taking your time to acknowledge my light and accomplishments I hope to hear about you soon!
