We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Lyn-Dee Eldridge a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Well, life sure did take another life changing turn and not just for me, but for all of us. We all had to figure out ways to adjust and reinvent ourselves.

The Only One I Can Count On Is Me

The year is 2020, mom is now gone and in heaven. The world is shut down and on lockdown due to the Coronavirus. My mentor, Mr. Les Brown showed up. He decided to bring his Certified Coaches back together again and asked us to join him on a private zoom call. He would like to give us more of what we should have already received. Mr. Les Brown shared that he wasn’t feeling well and had some health challenges, not complaining at all, just sharing. Immediately I thought, If I can help the man who changed my life and give him comfort, I want to do this. So, I sent Mr. Les Brown a Cuddle Me Love Body Pillow® with no expectations other than to hear that it helped him. However, after he used it for a week, he called me,
“Lyn-Dee, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS PILLOW! I haven’t had a good night’s sleep in years, and this last week has been a blessing using your pillow! I have sleep apnea and so many health issues and this pillow is helping me so much. And then … Something changed. It was an interference with one of his family members who chases money and is greedy. The partnership came to a dead stop. Mind you the large order has already started to be processed. I could not turn around now. All the promises of commitment were gone and I was abandoned. This was another very hard obstacle to swallow. Les and I have built our own businesses from the heart first, we learned the money will come when you are not greedy.

Next, Oh no, the China Overseas Shipping & Freight Container Cargo War began. The freight jumped to $24,000.00 from $7,000. If you don’t pay the premium rate you aren’t going to get your products. The world is going craZy and prices are skyrocketing out of control. We aren’t getting our shipments because there isn’t anyone working on the ports. I paid the premium rate and still had to wait 5 months, which I shouldn’t complain about. Many of my friends waited almost one year.

Defining moment …
I had to pause and regroup my thoughts. I could not give up. The money invested is everything I had. Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Can you relate? This world is moving so fast with so many changes and alarming alerts that I am getting dizzy with the unknown? Are you? My survival is always based around the end in mind and how to stay on this life’s roller coaster with solutions to redirect my life successfully, this is my superpower.

I look at my existing blueprint with a sharp pencil and an eraser in hand. I’m flexible with change and I am a thought-out problem solver. I learned how to use my vision as a 3D reality movie of where I am headed.
Obstacles are always going to pop up, it’s what do we do when they do and at the same time, stay calm while figuring out the solution?

One answer is to find a mentor that have been where you are. Have a student mindset when being mentored. Speak with the obvious experts that has walked in the shoes I am walking in now and hire them for their street smart knowledge. Go to motivated conferences about your industry. You have found when you learn how to move forward with the right activities and attitude for your goals, things change and you no longer feel like you are running in circles.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?

One Of My Golden Rules:

I qualify every client so we don’t waste each others time and money. During the qualifying process, I am looking for three things.

1. What is their Why and their Goals?
2. Are they willing to step out of their comfort zone with no resistance and follow my formula and trust the process of being uncomfortable to become comfortable, happy and complete?
3. Do they agree to completely eliminate the words, can’t, won’t, couldn’t, wouldn’t, during our entire mentoring program session?

** And now it’s decision time. Here is where I show I care and respect my prospects time and money as well as my own… Do we move forward together?

The question I ask myself … Am I the perfect mentor for this client? Not the other way around … When I understood its not about me, it’s about them, things changed.

Most of the time my clients qualify to work with me and when our mentoring sessions start, its uplifting, fun and life changing. They are extremely happy which makes me happy!

Now that is the gift of living in the now moments that I want to always be a part of. Life is to short to take on challenging clients when there is a willing client waiting to work with you.

People trust, love and respect me for my humbled honesty, transparency and authentic being and the way I make them feel and how I celebrate their victories with them. I always over deliver! My reputation is everything and my clients are proud they are mentored by me and/or own one of my Cuddle Me Love Body Pillows® and/or books and I am proud of them.

The beauty of my qualifying process is, many of my prospective clients that weren’t ready to work with my level of mentoring at the time they first contacted me, reconnect with me when they feel they are ready. Warms my heart and we start all over again!

I know their names and I have an open door policy that when they need me, They can come and speak with me anytime confidentially and they trust I will not repeat anything that is shared with me. Trust is a big factor.
Everyone has things going on in their lives, why not give them your shoulder and help them just by caring enough to listen and give a {{hug}}. Sometimes that is all people need to pull through.

Treat others the way you always want to be treated. It goes a long way.
