We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lydia Dupra. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lydia below.
Lydia, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about a time you helped a customer really get an amazing result through their work with you.
There are so many stories of how pheromones have transformed the way our customers connect with others. One that really stands out to me is a woman who was being denied her prescription medication from her doctor. She needed this prescription for her mental health and her doctor suddenly stopped prescribing it. She turned to our product Liquid Finesse, which is an Oxytocin concentrate to persuade her doctor.
After wearing Liquid Finesse to her next appointment, her doctor agreed to renew her prescription. She posted a video with tears of joy thanking me for making the product. I never thought these formulas could help people in such an important way. To this day she still uses Liquid Finesse and we always look forward to hearing her experiences.
Here is the video link of her experience: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTY98a1TQ/

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Heaux Cosmetics was born out of pure necessity for a very overlooked, misunderstood and at risk community. When I was being s*x trafficked in my youth, I experienced a lot of hardships and danger. Besides the intense labor, there was psychological labor and an extreme risk of violence with every client I interacted with. When I was able to get away from that life, I wrote a book series on harm reduction to help others navigate the s*x work industry. However it was not enough to reduce their chances of encountering violence in a significant enough way. I wanted a way to eliminate harm, not just reduce it.
After years of research, I found that there was a hormone responsible for bonding people called Oxytocin. Oxytocin can literally make people kinder, more generous and trusting of each other. So I found a chemist to make a wearable version of the hormone and our first product Liquid Finesse was born.
It was an immediate hit within the s*x work community and Heaux Cosmetics became an overnight success. Shortly after its launch, Covid hit and I thought my company may see an early demise. This was not the case, it actually made us even more popular. The benefits of Liquid Finesse reached anxious and frustrated couples on lockdown. People wanted to relieve their anxiety and improve their social interactions with their families during this time.
We developed more formulas, reached millions more people and 6 years later we just released our 5th formula and opened our first storefront. Turns out, a lot more people than I thought can benefit from the use of pheromones and hormones. I have a personal theory that no one is actually unhappy, they’re just hormonally imbalanced. The most ironic part of all this for me is I was diagnosed with autism a couple years ago. It makes so much sense that I made a company to help people improve their social interactions lol. It’s ALWAYS been a struggle for me even outside of s*x work. I personally wear Essence of Ecstasy to help my social anxiety and feel more confident getting out of my comfort zone.

Has your business ever had a near-death moment? Would you mind sharing the story?
As calculated as my risk taking is, it’s never a sure thing. Covid was the first extremely scary and humbling moment where it all went wrong. In 2019, I was getting our packaging from Italy and when the ports closed I thought we’d be done for. Consumers weren’t consuming because of lockdown and well with no sales and no way to get my packaging into the US I kinda just thought it was over. Until my employees stepped up. They decided to work for free until sales started coming back in. I’ll never forget that. They barely knew me but they believed in the company so much. Their faith restored mine and we somehow kept going. A few viral videos later on TikTok things got better, salaries were paid and the company made its first million all in its first year.
Ive had some close calls since then but nothing has been to that caliber. Shoutout to Johanna, Diego, Fernando and Byron for getting us through those times. You guys saved the company.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
My worst day at heaux Cosmetics is better than my best day as a s*x worker. On days where I’m crying and stressed I remember at least I’m not wondering if I’ll die just by showing up to work today. It puts it in perspective QUICK and I can just do what I need to do.
