We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Lvf Lvx a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, LVF thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
Writing So, I Married My Shadow: Poetry & Reflections has been a journey of experiential learning. Through exploration, each poem uncovered a lesson that I trust resonates with anyone who may be navigating despair or feeling lost in their marriage or significant relationships. Through this work, I confronted the darkest parts of my experience—especially the struggle to rebuild myself when my marriage felt irreparably broken.
The process of writing this book taught me how to make sense of suffering by unveiling universal truths hidden in personal struggle. I explored themes, and the wisdom of the Sephirot as a guiding light to find strength, compassion, and humility when we feel burdened by our circumstances. This project was not only a journey of self-discovery but also a means to offer others a path forward, showing that in our darkest moments, there are lessons that can heal and inspire. In the end, So, I Married My Shadow embodies the transformation of inner conflict into personal growth, offering insights that I hope can inspire self-reflection and healing in others, as well.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My writing journey began when I was 14, during a time marked by a deep and unexpected loss. One of my friends took his own life, and in the aftermath, I turned to poetry as a way to make sense of my grief and the emotions that felt too overwhelming to express otherwise. Writing became my refuge—a place where I could explore life’s complexities, confront pain, and find solace in words. Poetry helped me process that early loss, and since then, it has remained a constant companion through life’s highs and lows.
For over 20 years, I’ve studied philosophy, psychoanalysis, esotericism, and mythology, which has deepened my understanding of the human experience and provided a foundation for my work. These disciplines have shaped my writing, allowing me to draw on universal themes that resonate across cultures and time. I see poetry not only as an art form but also as a way to illuminate the inner workings of the mind and soul. This background gives my work a layered quality, blending emotional depth with psychological insight and mythological themes. My goal is not just to write about my own experiences but to invite readers into an introspective journey of their own, encouraging them to explore their own lives with greater empathy and understanding for deeper transformation.
In 2023, after being laid off from my corporate role, I made the decision to fully commit to writing and publishing. I wanted to channel my experiences and insights into books that could inspire and support others on their own paths to healing. As an artist, I also bring my poetry to life through live performances and creative pieces, which allows me to share the experience in a more tangible way. I believe in the power of art as an immersive experience, and performing my work is an opportunity to connect with audiences on a deeply emotional and intellectual level, allowing me to transcend my poetry into art form.
My purpose is simple: to help transform the world, one reader at a time. Through my work, I hope to offer a new perspective, bringing understanding to those who need it, and encouraging them to find meaning in life’s most challenging moments.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
The last couple of years have tested my resilience in ways I could never have imagined. Being laid off brought an unexpected upheaval, as I suddenly faced a loss of stability and direction in my life. This, unfortunately, put an intense strain on my marriage, which left me questioning the very foundation of my life. Through it all, I’ve had to discover strength and inner peace as everything around me seemed to crumble.
These experiences have not only deepened my commitment to my work but have fueled a sense of urgency to publish my next book, So, I Married My Shadow: Poetry & Reflections. Each challenge I’ve faced has pushed me to reach further inward, drawing on reserves of resilience I hadn’t realized I had. Rather than allow these hardships to consume me, I’ve chosen to channel them into my writing. I know that many people are facing similar struggles, feeling the weight of instability and the need to rebuild from what feels like ground zero. I want this next book to be a source of hope and strength for those who may be on similar paths, a testament to the power of resilience in the face of life’s greatest storms.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My mission with my upcoming book is to help people transform themselves and their lives by introducing a new way of thinking about their past and present circumstances. I believe that by integrating the divine attributes represented by the Sephirot—wisdom, understanding, compassion, strength, mercy, and others—individuals can unlock their fullest potential and create lasting change within themselves. These attributes offer a path to healing, growth, and self-actualization, guiding us to live with greater purpose, clarity, and empathy. This drive to support and uplift others has become my purpose, motivating me to continue writing with the hope that my words can be transformative for the world.
