We were lucky to catch up with Luna Soleil recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Luna, thanks for joining us today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
I was first inspired when I started to discover cute illustrations by others artists online. Specially art that was made with such genuine sentiment of healing and happiness. I started to fall in love with the therapeutic aspect of drawing. Art is an ongoing process of practicing your craft. Anything that inspires you can be your art.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
It all started when I was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia and I wanted to find peace within myself. I started seeing other artists who would post their art online and it inspired me to try drawing. I took art as form of therapy for my soul. I started with basic sketching, drawing and then trying acrylic painting. It was a journey on its own to find out that I love making illustrations. My art can be found on Inprnt and kofi. I also have an Instagram with the handle of artbylunasoleil, I post my latest doodles or illustrations in there.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist or creative is how much happiness it brings to you. Making art is like a plant, you must water it to grow. Once it does, you admire it and let it be. That’s how I feel with the process or art. The fondness through time when you see a piece of art you have created. It’s indescribable.
: Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My particular goal is to let my art grow into different forms. I know now it’s illustrations but who knows tomorrow, it make take another form of art and that’s the beauty of it.
