Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Luminescence Goh. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Luminescence thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
My motivation as an author originates from a lifelong fascination with the fragile balance between humans and the environment, resilience, and our interwoven obligations. Growing up, I saw firsthand how cultural wisdom, environmental stewardship, and personal growth intertwine in learning studies books at university, such as ‘Theories of Globalization’ by Axford, Barrie, ‘Ethics and Social Responsibility’ by Kurt Mosser, and ‘Essentials of Environmental Science’ by Dorsner, Kamala. My interest in mythology and philosophy prompted me to investigate how ancient wisdom may help us navigate current difficulties ranging from climate change to personal tragedy.
My books, Chronicles of the Enchanted Vanguard and Navigating Life’s Challenges: Mindful Resilience for Zodiacs, embody this idea, combining narrative with deeper themes of resilience, responsibility, and transformation. Environmental consciousness is more than simply sustainability; it is about recognizing our role in the earth and how our actions influence the future. Similarly, human resilience is more than just enduring misfortune; it is also about evolving through it with insight.
Through my work, I seek to reveal these linkages and inspire readers to take meaningful action—whether it’s developing inner strength, being more aware of their surroundings, or adopting a feeling of duty to the earth. Literature is a powerful agent of change, and I hope to use it to tell stories that awaken purpose, inspire self-reflection, and build a world in which people regard themselves as guardians of both their inner and outward environments.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Luminescence Goh, an author, literary entrepreneur, and storyteller who is passionate about telling stories that promote resilience, connection, and environmental consciousness. My interest in mythology, philosophy, and the human experience inspired me to write stories that combine fantasy with real-world themes of personal development and responsibility.
I specialize in writing both fiction and nonfiction, combining contemporary psychology, traditional Chinese astrology, and environmental philosophy. My writings include Chronicles of the Enchanted Vanguard: Seraphina and the Divine Mandate, an English-Chinese fantasy book, and Navigating Life’s Challenges: Mindful Resilience for Zodiacs, a personal growth guide based on astrological knowledge.
What distinguishes me is my ability to combine old wisdom with modern storytelling, resulting in storylines that not only amuse but also prompt thinking and motivate action. I take satisfaction in assisting readers and fellow authors with their own creative journeys. Through my work, I hope to expose pathways of change, resilience, and purpose, encouraging my audience to take an active role in creating a more conscious and connected society.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
To me, resilience means not just getting through tough times but also changing and growing from them. My life changed a lot during one of the hardest years I faced. I went through a divorce, struggled with depression, lost my job, and had money problems, all without much help outside my close family. It was a time of great uncertainty, where moving forward felt like walking through thick fog.
During this time, I found comfort in reading, especially books on learning studies like Theories of Globalization by Barrie Axford, Ethics and Social Responsibility by Kurt Mosser, and Essentials of Environmental Science by Kamala Dorsner. These works showed me how culture, caring for the environment, and personal development are linked. They reminded me that resilience means changing and finding purpose in tough times.
Instead of giving in to sadness, I turned my challenges into stories. Writing became my safe space, helping me change my pain into something meaningful. My books show my journey and help others deal with their difficulties using awareness and strength. This experience strengthened my goal: to tell stories that motivate us, inspire strength, and show that even in tough times, we can change our direction.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the most difficult lessons I had to unlearn was the belief that resilience means enduring struggles alone. Growing up, I internalized the idea that personal strength was defined by how much I could handle without seeking help. However, during one of the most challenging periods of my life—navigating divorce, depression, job loss, and financial struggles—I realized that resilience isn’t about isolation; it’s about adaptation and connection.
At university, my studies in Theories of Globalization by Barrie Axford, Ethics and Social Responsibility by Kurt Mosser, What Is Philosophy? by Gilles Deleuze, and Essentials of Environmental Science by Kamala Dorsner reshaped my perspective. These books revealed how cultural wisdom, environmental stewardship, and personal growth are deeply interconnected. Just as ecosystems thrive through interdependence, so do individuals.
I had to unlearn the notion that seeking support was a weakness. Instead, I embraced collaboration, vulnerability, and community. This shift transformed my writing and mission, allowing me to create stories that highlight resilience as a journey of interconnected growth rather than solitary endurance. Today, I encourage others to embrace support systems and recognize that strength is not about standing alone but rising together.
