We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lulu107. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lulu107 below.
Hi Lulu107, thanks for joining us today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
Since I was a child I always enjoyed drawing, painting, pretty much anything creative! Growing up I had lost interest and inspiration to create art! It took my father’s passing to jump start my love for art again! I quit my job and learned how to spray paint! It wasn’t easy at first like anything in life! But you keep practicing and developing your skills! It was therapy for me! As far as obstacles the one issue I came across is money. I had to go back to work and try to find a balance with my 9 to 5 and trying create art that satisfies my creativity!
Lulu107, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I write Lulu107! Born in Nicaragua but raised in Miami Florida! I love my city! All the colors and different people! I enjoy art. Music and being around creative energy! Just being around other graffiti artist and artist is motivation enough for me to enjoy creating local art for my city! I’m a whimsical graffiti artist that has been fortunate to have people like my illustrations and murals! I love growing and developing new skills. Creating and collaborating with other artists! It’s all about the experiences!
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
As of April 13, 2023 I was diagnosed with stomach cancer. Yeah I didn’t see it on my bingo card either! It has been a tough journey but I go back to creating art and being around other creative people and energy! It gives me strength to keep on fighting and making progress! I have so much more to gain from this experience. Living life and continuing creating is my passion, not even cancer can take it away!
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being creative is just the creativity that comes out of you and the end result! Also when other people enjoy your art and appreciate it!
