We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Lulu Carey a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Lulu , thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear your thoughts about family businesses.
When I’m asked about what inspired me to start Sweetlove, the answer is always my sons, Joseph and Austin . They are my inspiration and biggest fans. Their support and passion for our small business is the reason why we keep going. Sweetlove is us, as a family and I love that they enjoy being part of this. Their willingness to help their mom in anything they can do, sometimes is very small tasks but they make sure that there is a part of them in this journey.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
SweetLove has been serving customers in NY, NJ, and CT since 2020.,when I was able to finally put all my thoughts together due to the unexpected downtime and create the business I had been dreaming of.
Sweetlove started out as an online gift shop but then in 2022 shifted into a mobile treat bar cart service.
We now offer a very unique buffet-style service, where partygoers can help themselves from customized bar carts with flowers, donuts, churros, or mini pancakes.
We have catered schools, corporations, networking events, and social gatherings, making each event sweeter.
Sweetlove has been growing steadily thanks to the support of local communities that continue to book them to cater parties and gatherings.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Every business needs needs a social media presence, this is an effective way to reach new audiences with engaging content, and the benefits are worth the effort. It also provides immense potential for businesses because consumers can log on to it and see our work,pictures, posts, stories, engaging directly with us, generating leads, expanding our audience and driving sales . Social
Media it’s best to use as a tool for engagement and communication and has been working amazingly for us.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
We believe that word of mouth marketing is the best tool. We love to hear from our clients and customers experiences, they share their reviews or recommendations on social
Media, talking to friends a family about our services and leaving reviews on our posts. This has helped us built many relationships and a good presence in the community.
