We were lucky to catch up with LUKESHIA WALKER recently and have shared our conversation below.
LUKESHIA, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What was the most important lesson/experience you had in a job that has helped you as a business owner?
An important lesson that I learned after leaving my corporate job was the importance of investing in myself. I realized that I was pouring into the dreams of the people instead of my own. At that time, I knew it was time for me to make a change and start living my best life. As a business owner, I am able to live my dreams to the fullest. Today, I inspire women to be all they can be and to live their best lives.

LUKESHIA, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Welcome to the world of Lukeshia Walker – Womenpreneur on the move! Daughter, mother, author, investor, coach, consultant, philanthropist and a sister-friend to many. As a business-owner, I find fulfillment in helping women to build their businesses. Serving the community and women across the U.S. brings me pure joy. Finding creative ways to inspire others through coaching, consulting and giving back has been rewarding.
Coaching has afforded me the opportunity to truly follow my passion. In 2019, I took a leap of faith and decided to leave the corporate world. I bet on myself and finally started to make my dreams a reality. Over the years, it was challenging for me to find that balance between my personal life and career. I’m thankful for the love and support of my family and friends because I can now say that I have found that balance.
How do you keep your team’s morale high?
The advice that I would give for managing a team would be to always be a leader and find enjoyment in working with a team. It is good managing practice to connect with your team, meet with them frequently, be present, and show up for them because you essentially set the tone. To maintain high morale, always provide your team with the support that they need, keep open dialogue, and allow them to have a voice. Following this advice will put you and your team in a good position to win.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Networking has been one of the most effective strategies for growing my clientele as well as obtaining referrals.
