We were lucky to catch up with Luke Lintott recently and have shared our conversation below.
Luke, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How did you come up with the idea for your business?
During the most challenging time of my life, I lost a 9-year relationship and my job, and left medical school. My unhappiness with my life, myself, and my decisions led me to heavy drinking, toxic relationships, and anxiety, depression, and insomnia. I felt hopeless.
Luckily, things improved when I reprogrammed my body and mind, and transformed what I was doing and who I was around. Upon moving to San Diego in 2016, I began practicing yoga every single day, and I finally began feeling good again. Day by day, I stepped into a new life through a new body, mind, and personality. I soon made the best friends of my life, and got lean and muscular after being unhealthy & insecure for years. Yoga also helped me get sober, radically accepted myself, and come out as bisexual/pansexual/Two-Spirited (Nez Perce/Wenatchi).
Because of my own wellness journey, I knew that I had a higher purpose to help others get healthy, loved and more healed. Then suddenly, when I co-led a Self Love Retreat in Mexico, my confidence soared. With a new sense of belonging and community, I committed to pursuing my dream and launched my wellness business, Luke Yoga. Luke Yoga began out of my deep desire to spread health and wellness to more people and companies in order to get happy, more healed, and productive.
This experience blossomed into me launching the Helix Charter High School Mindfulness Program right before the schools shut down during COVID. In spring 2020, I taught yoga to 9-11th grade boys and girls for 4 weeks. After completing this wellness program, my students experienced a decreased rate of hopelessness, reduced stress, and increased belief in their academic potential. I’m so grateful that they had these self care tools for the challenging time that followed.
Through Luke Yoga Corporate Wellness, I direct corporate wellness programs that reduce burnout, increase productivity, and improve company culture. Current and past clients include wonderful businesses such as Nordstrom, Vuori Clothing, and Lotus and Luna.
I am the premier Lifestyle Consultant on the West Coast, and coach seekers of healing to get healthy and loved – both online and in person. I lead retreats both locally and across the globe centered on self love and leadership. I provide the best private yoga, personal training and massage to individuals in San Diego and beyond.
I direct wonderful, highly reviewed online wellness programs to get healthy, loved, successful, and more healed. During these programs, I integrate my expertise in hypnosis, mind/body medicine, and therapeutic coaching to empower my clients to reach their wellness goals. It brings me such great joy to see my clients across the globe lose weight, get muscular and toned, and attract true love.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hello! My name is Luke Lintott and I coach seekers of healing to get healthy and loved, and direct corporate wellness programs that work. On a personal note, I am White & Native American (Nez Perce/Wenatchi), bisexual/pansexual/Two-Spirited, and an ENFP. I am an intuitive and creative Aquarius who has amazing energy. Outside of yoga, I enjoy traveling the world, visiting my favorite coffee shops, and lounging at the beach. After overcoming so many challenges through my own healing journey with the help of coaches and mentors that care, I launched my wellness business, Luke Yoga. Luke Yoga began out of my deep desire to help others such as myself that have struggled with issues related to self love, health, and living their purpose.
Luke Yoga provides the best private yoga, personal training, consulting, meditation/hypnosis, and massage on the West Coast. Through my in-person and online wellness programs, my clients have lost weight permanently, overcome anxiety and depression, and attracted true love. Furthermore, my retreats (both locally and abroad) have reduced stress and anxiety and fostered radical self love, happiness and connection.
It brings me limitless joy to see my clients reach their fullest potential in their bodies, minds and spirits. When one of my elderly clients began doing private yoga with me, she walked with a limp and experienced excruciating pain in her hip and leg. After just a few months of personal training and massage, she regained her ability to walk, and can now climb stairs with ease and reduced pain. Other clients that I have worked with online have lost 30 pounds, began feeling beautiful and happy again, and manifested true love and success in their businesses. Going forward, I am so excited to have an even greater impact as I coach more individuals that desire to get healthy, loved, and more healed.
In 2021, I founded Luke Yoga Corporate Wellness, whose mission is to improve company culture, reduce burnout, and increase productivity. My yoga and wellness programs have resulted in improved camaraderie, attracted and retained valuable staff, and improved publicity for companies across San Diego and beyond. I currently direct wellness programs for wonderful companies that desire to treat their staff as assets, improve publicity, and replace stress with joy. Current and past clients include Nordstrom, Lotus & Luna, and Vuori Clothing. I love promoting these wonderful companies, and am so honored to serve their staff, leadership, and CEOs with highly-reviewed corporate wellness that works.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
In March 2020 when lockdown began, I was laid off from my job and 5 private yoga canceled me in one day. After panicking, I decided to take quick action. 6 days after lockdown began, I taught my first online fitness class. 8 people from across 3 states showed up, and I realized that it was a lot of fun. I then went ahead and began teaching online fitness & yoga classes on a regular basis from my bedroom with the goal of replacing the income I had made at my previous yoga studio.
Despite these accomplishments, at this time I still struggled with self love, stress, and uncertainty. Even after going to therapy for years, I still experienced internalized homophobia, as most of my mentors growing up were homophobic.
In order to radically love myself, I reprogrammed my mind to address challenges related to my sexuality, looks, quirkiness, and shame. This inner work made it possible for me to be authentically visible online and in person despite the judgment I experienced from people that don’t align with my true self. I also devoted myself to daily meditation/hypnosis, cooking healthy food, and changing my beliefs in order to attract my desires in my body, mind, business, and life. All things considered, I am so grateful that I addressed issues related to self acceptance during this time of great change.
After having some success with my online business, in May 2020, I completed my Masters in School Counseling from SDSU. At this time, I had limited financial resources, challenges related to housing, and student loans. Despite the barriers, I decided to take the risk and devote 100% of my energy towards my online coaching business.
I took a chance on myself, and went for my dreams.
I knew that it was important for me to stand as a role model to queer youth, and others that have faced challenges related to identity, self love, and getting healthy.
I later launched numerous online coaching programs, including my bootcamps, manifestations coaching programs, and weight loss programs. After many ups and downs, these programs soon blossomed into my current programs, which include the Unfu*k Yourself Coaching Program, Corporate Wellness, Unlimited Yoga and Fitness with Luke Lintott, and my VIP 1:1 personal yoga, personal training, and massage offerings.
All things considered, I am forever grateful that I went for my dreams, and empowered my true self to shine bright. I also now see risks as opportunities for growth, and am so grateful for the mountains I have crossed.
Furthermore, the currency of my work lies in my clients’ success, who have released anxiety, manifested loving, increased muscle/bone mass, and released weight. With good reason, I am so excited for the bright future ahead as I transform more lives through lifestyle consulting, yoga, and personal training.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
Above all else, I foster authentic connection with my clients both online and in person. I go Live on Facebook once per week and share free resources, tips, and motivation related to health, wellness and lifestyle in my Instagram, TikTok, email newsletter, and podcast. I frequently make yoga, dance and wellness videos for both entertainment and health. I also spotlight clients that have reached their wellness and love goals, which motivates others to invest in their happiness, health, and purpose.
I also interview experts and guests on my highly-reviewed podcast, Lifestyle with Luke Lintott. My podcast has been a wonderful way for my clients to stay motivated and learn steps they can take today to get healthy, loved and more healed. It brings me great joy when my followers let me know that they have begun listening to my podcast during their commutes or while cleaning, exercising, and meal prepping. I am so grateful that my consistent engagement with my clients online has created an even bigger impact, & resulted in strong and meaningful connections both locally and abroad.
Recently, I traveled and worked in Southeast Asia for 7 weeks. When one of my followers that lives in Bali saw that I was visiting his home country, he reached out to me and we met in person while I was abroad. At this time, I realized how important it is for me to post my insight and thoughts related to health and wellness, especially since most of my followers online do not live in sunny San Diego near the beach. Furthermore, I’ve gotten inspiring messages from LGBT men in other countries where being gay is still punishable by death, which further drives me to speak and live my truth for fellow queer leaders and youth that still live in hostile environments.
I also invest ample time and energy for fruitful in-person relationships with my clients that I train in their homes, the great outdoors, and local businesses. I send my clients encouraging messages, and also attend company, networking, family, and fundraising events that align with my core values.
Recently, I was invited by one of my clients to attend a fundraiser Gala for RefugeeNet. I donated $660 worth of wellness services from Luke Yoga to support RefugeeNet’s mission of empowering San Diego’s refugee families. At the Gala raffle, I had the opportunity to contribute to this amazing cause and give back to our community. RefugeeNet is an incredible organization that equips refugees with the tools they need to become self-reliant, engaged, and contributing citizens. I am proud to support their efforts and honored to be a part of their mission.
Going forward, I am excited to help even more schools, businesses, and clients release stress and attract success, health and love to their lives! Now, I’m here for you when you are ready.
