Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Luke Eccles. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Luke, thanks for joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?

I was working for a company called 1&1 out of Chesterbrook, Pennsylvania doing outside sales. I worked with small businesses to provide them with do it yourself websites for their operation. I ended up doing a lot of web design for the clients just to keep them as clients. I was in a spot where I was sick of having a boss over my shoulder with a quota every week. I had one of my really good clients. Ask if I would run her Facebook and 2014. She was a great fit as a client so I said yes. The name was Later born after I had five or six clients .

Luke, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

As a musician by background, I had already been used to building websites for my music. When social media is starting to take off as an acceptable platform for every day people to use businesses aren’t sure about it. My expertise in knowing how to gain attention from social media Often translated to the client. I have about 12,000 followers on five different platforms from the last three years. I also run a nonprofit as their marketing Director.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

If you were looking to start a business, it’s super important to be patient and reflect what your desires are to start one. Taking the time to talk with trusted friends and advisors is super important. At the end of the day remember though if you’re going to be a business owner, you walk alone. be ready to make decisions by yourself and be able to stand them.

How did you build your audience on social media?

This is very much a part of me playing with posting and my social media platforms. My following really started when I started getting comfortable with who I was being able to showcase that camera.
