We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Luis Estrada aka Vomit Tomb. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Luis below.
Luis, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
My name is Luis Estrada and i do freelance art under the name Vomit Tomb. I began using the name when i decided i wanted to make an instagram for my drawings. I wanted something that reflected my art style which is skeletons, zombies, demons etc. Now i use the name on clothing, stickers and jewlery. It has slowly become my brand overtime
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I started drawing a lot in highschool and when i decided on going to college for graphic design, i began to draw everyday. Around that same time, i started listening to extreme heavy metal music which has a big focus on art and imagery. As i started getting better i began getting commission work from people all over the world who wanted me to draw for them. Fast forward to now, i design my own clothes and sell my designs to brands and record labels. It makes me proud to see my artwork all around the world and what sets me apart is the eye i have for design work and my drawings has its own unique style
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
The main advice i would give is to find your audience. Just like any brand on social media you should have a target audience that you want to connect with. From there, your other main focus should be getting better at your craft and style. Always improving makes people want to follow along. Last thing would be to get creative and do things other creators aren’t doing and always try to keep it new.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
For me,i just try to be consistent and always think of new ways to be creative. You never know what i will do next and that is the most fun part. I have also been lucky enough to work with big names in the industry such as maggot stomp records which helped with having my art get recognized by so many people.
