We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Luis Escribano a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Luis, thanks for joining us today. Have you been able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen? Was it like that from day one? If not, what were some of the major steps and milestones and do you think you could have sped up the process somehow knowing what you know now?
I’ve been collecting ALIEN for more than 20 years, 7 years ago I ran out of space at home and I decided to move everything to another space next to my house.
It’s a space of 50 m² and I decided go a step farther and decorate the place by recreating parts of the life-size sets.
Started to promote guided tours in social media.
During the tour people can see replicas of props such as weapons, detectors etc. also some original props used in the movies, life-size statues … I was recreating the sets for more than 3 years.
Now 4 years making those tours, people from all over the world is coming and I recieve more mails than the visits I can do.

All my life I worked in the automotive sector but I always had cinema, sets and special effects as a hobby. Now I have created a site that is truly unique in the world.
I am proud to have created this space from scratch and to have a project to expand it
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Get your work recognized and get that people that you always admired knows what you have done and wants to meet you
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
To create a science fiction museum that everyone can visit with the movies I’ve always loved.
