We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Luis Escarret. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Luis below.
Alright, Luis thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So, let’s start with a hypothetical – what would you change about the educational system?
I am SUPER passionate about this topic for the single fact that I think our country is losing its “Juice” , As the greatest country ever to exist we aren’t focused enough on the next generation, we got to this point because those before us had such an important WHY and wanted our country to be great for the generations to come. However our current school is flawed. We try to make Elephants climb tress and try to make Monkeys Swim. Basically I’m saying its too general and needs some innovation. I always wanted to take my success and go into politics so I can change the way we bring up kids. We are suppose to be hard on them. we should teach them how to learn not what to learn. Yes teach the basic but lets master subjects at a young age. EX: if Billy sucks at math but loves hand on work on cars why are we drilling a math class every year instead of putting him somewhere he will flourish. Our country is not gonna be the golden boy we always knew unless our kids step up because the way its looking we are going to have a very weak country.
Luis, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I have been lifting for 12+ years now. During the Pandemic when the entire gym industry took a step back I took a step forward and started a gym in my parents back yard. Once traction began there was no turning back. every day, every client , every problem I handled to the best of my abilities and never gave up. my focus was so tight nothing could stop me, this was something I always wanted so it drove me past even the worst of days especially when my loved ones didn’t believe in me. I had to study great business owners , listen to podcast , read books and attack daily task like my life depend on them because they did. Success is easy if you understand this one thing. Stop looking for the cool thing and find what you are passionate about then be the best at it, work so hard everyone knows your the best at it and the money will come after. The thing I’m most proud of is my resilience and work ethic, I work 15+ hour days M-F and sat and Sunday I do training sessions as well. I can rest when I die. Having a Trust worthy Brand is the most important thing for sure. if it wasn’t for me leading by example every single day and posting it I would not be here.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
During the pandemic I had my gym in my parents back yard, it was 20 degrees outside most days during November and December. I bought a Restaurant tent and Space heater, cool problem solved and then literately the next day a HUGE storm came and crushed the entire tent. I woke up an hour early before my 6am class and fixed the entire tent with duct tape and strings. my fingers cold as heck, tired as hell , and unmotivated I pushed through. the class didn’t even know it happened. that day I realized nothing will stop me.
We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
As the Founder of RBA I realized I could only get so far alone. there was many things about fitness and physical therapy that I did not understand. so I asked my best friend who did go to school for the to join me. even though it took a lot of convincing he came through and we love our lives like never before.
