Today, we’d like to introduce you to Luis Berrio. Luis was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Vega Montanez.

Luis, can you walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
First let me say thank you for the opportunity to be interviewed. My story isn’t such a traditional one. Before I embarked on my acting career I was an NYC undercover narcotics Det. and former tactics instructor. I did that for over 24 years in NYC. I’m very proud of my service to the people of NYC. Never would have thought I would be an actor in this second chapter of my life. One of my first jobs was being a cop in a friends music video . That day something clicked, I believe God told me that day”Why not try this,Luis”. From that day on the fuse was lit , and the passion for this craft of acting and the art of storytelling began.

Alright, so we’d love to learn more about your acting career. What should we know?
I’m most proud of the consistency and discipline I’ve applied to my new career as an artist. This industry can be very hard. I’ve always have been consistent with things that I enjoy in partaking. Getting into this industry at this stage , I’m supremely grateful for the auditions and jobs that come my way. There are levels on this journey and I plan to take them one at a time. It’s a marathon not a sprint. From signing on to my first agency to becoming a SAG AFTRA union member, there are many goals ahead that I want to accomplish. The biggest thing I enjoy is collaborating with others on telling a story.

So, as we mentioned to our audience earlier, you were introduced to us by Vega Montanez and we really admire them and what they’ve built. For folks who might not be as familiar, can you tell them a bit about your experience with Vega.
I came to meet Vega, when I auditioned for the role of Russell in his feature film “The Burden of Nine Lives”. Working on this film Vega was a great experience. His combination of quick thinking and directing cast and crew is truly inspirational. You can feel his passion for filmmaking, which is contagious as an actor as well. His ability to problem solve and delegate responsibilities are signs of a great director. Working with someone with his dedication you want to bring your best work.
