We were lucky to catch up with Luh 6ix recently and have shared our conversation below.
Luh, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
Growing up from the South playing sports is something a lot kids pursue, so I didn’t think of making music growing up. I always loved listening to it. eventually it grew on me, and not only was I just listening to music anymore. I actually could feel, and relate to the lyrics. In High school I would still have fun while hanging out with people, but doing music still didn’t catch my eye. Until my peers suggested that I should. Around 2018 I would write lyrics, and play around with music, but I never took it serious. Eventually I ended up recording a song, and from that point on I began to take things more serious along with the feedback that I received . I continued to write until I got my own equipment. Late 2019 I dropped my first single and it’s been history since.
Luh, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Me being and artist it’s bigger than just recording and releasing, it’s art and my way of therapy, venting or expressing feelings. When when fans/people hear the music I them actually feel and take what I’m saying in to consideration & understand that I’m talking about life situations what you might of gone through, me or anyone else. Hearing my sound is different already from what’s being played in South Carolina and make you ask yourself who is this.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My main goal is to make generational wealth from doing what I created because it’s bigger than me. From sponsors to commercials I know being an Artist can open up tons of door that’s another thing keeping me above. Once I reach the point where can I branch off doing things around the music from building own my name/brand then I’ll feel safe and it’ll let me know that I’ve really accomplished something.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Being able to touch people verbally speaking on topics others may not like to vent about & having a voice for the ones that’s not heard. For myself again expressing the way I feel at moments and also the world being able to relate to my lyrics is a good feeling to me.
