We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Anet & Lucy Founders of Lusanet Collective a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Founders of Lusanet Collective, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start big picture – what are some of biggest trends you are seeing in your industry?
The biggest trends in retail currently is shopping from boutiques and local small businesses. Consumers favor locally sourced and artisanal products, promoting community focused retail. Online shopping continues to surge, with a focus on convenience, personalization and experience. Consumers prioritize eco-friendly products and sustainable practices.
We see a huge opportunity in these trends. We carry many locally sourced beauty and self care products. We carry over 40 designers at Lusanet Collective, bringing to the customer the unique experience to shop with more intention.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Anet and Lucy, two enterprising individuals, embarked on their retail business journey with a shared passion for fashion and a unique vision of a collective space for designers and creatives. Lusanet Collective is not just a retail store, it is a vibrant hub that brings together designers and artists from various walks of life, providing them with a platform to showcase their products and talents. Through carefully curated events, pop up opportunities and exhibitions, Lusanet Collective is a beacon of innovation and creativity in the heart of Downtown Burbank. We proudly introduce an array of fresh talents and distinctive, art-inspired fashion, jewelry, and accessories spanning various price points. Our discerning clientele appreciates the exclusivity of our meticulously curated offerings, free from the mass-produced monotony prevalent in the market. Furthermore, our commitment to supporting small enterprises, especially female-run businesses, is manifest in our substantial imports of unique items from overseas. Our product range encompasses a wide spectrum, accommodating budgets ranging from $10 to $1000, all infused with a distinct artistic essence.
Our establishment operates as a veritable collective, fostering a supportive ecosystem replete with networking opportunities for budding entrepreneurs. Here, they find a nurturing haven, replete with resources aimed at bolstering their exposure and providing essential business acumen through our ‘Business 101’ initiatives. Moreover, our monthly events serve as a conduit to facilitate valuable connections within the community. Conversely, our cherished clients revel in the perennially evolving array of selections, featuring new designers each month, thereby contributing to their ongoing support of small businesses.
In our unwavering commitment to community engagement, we have formed fruitful partnerships with a multitude of local organizations. This collaboration enables us to give back to the community that has graciously supported us, thereby enriching the lives of all involved.
How’d you meet your business partner?
We first crossed paths at one of the trade shows, where we were both exhibitors, diligently nurturing our burgeoning online enterprises. Anet, a seasoned designer and artist, has been at the helm of Anet’s Collection for over eight years, boasting a wealth of experience in the retail sector and creating visuals for high fashion brands. Meanwhile, Lucy, the founder of an online boutique specializing in imported jewelry, brought a unique global perspective to the table.
Early on, we both grasped the inherent solitude that can accompany the entrepreneurial journey, where the weight of every decision falls squarely on your shoulders. Despite the exhilaration that comes with building one’s business, the importance of finding kindred spirits to share the day-to-day victories and challenges with became apparent. This realization led us to collaborate on various vendor events, where we shared exhibition space and, over time, developed a deep and lasting friendship.
Three years into our friendship, a transformative idea emerged. We recognized the potential of taking our camaraderie and partnership to the next level by establishing a brick-and-mortar presence. Without delay, the concept took shape, and our joint venture was christened “Lusanet Collective,” a fusion of our names, Lucy and Anet. With unwavering commitment, we cultivated this vision into a thriving reality, culminating in the opening of a 2,500-square-foot establishment in the heart of Downtown Burbank.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
The key to social media is “Presence”. There is so much noise on all social media platforms, that it is very challenging to stand out. We believe in organic growth through, anchored in consistency, engagement and a genuine connection with our target audience. We began by defining our brand’s unique voice and values, which helped us create content that resonated with our followers. Engagement is also key. We actively respond to comments, messages and initiate conversations with our audience. For those starting, remember to be authentic, patient and consistent in your efforts. Building a social media audience takes time, but the connections you establish are invaluable for long-term success.
