We were lucky to catch up with Lucretia Marsh Ward recently and have shared our conversation below.

Lucretia , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

Coffee played a vital part of my childhood up until now in my adult hood. As a child I could remember at about 7-8 years old the smell of coffee flowing through the house that I was raised in. My mother would get up early in the morning and make a pot of coffee. The smell would run through the whole house. When I would get up to get ready for school I could smell nothing but coffee. She had this aquarius zodiac sign coffee mug. It was large.😆 By the time I will come down from getting ready for school.There was always a half a cup of coffee left. Yes we drink it,me. I joke with myself now because at seven or eight I could have invented ice coffee because it was cold when I drank it!! We lost our mother in 2017 Unexpectedly. Speeding up now to 2021. At the time Coffee and Me was birthed. I was very sick with Covid. That’s why I always tell people it was God.Inspired because with covid you can’t smell or taste. In that moment I was smelling the coffee from my childhood home. God gave me the vision for my business.This list and my mother was my inspiration. That’s why my slogan is a mother’s Touch In every cup.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I was born and raised. In the city of South Bend. Coffee and me was a God given vision. I offer bags of coffee grounds, K=cups and also whole beans. Papa New Guinea, Kenya AA, Also Jamaica Blue Mountain. During the winter season I offer Fireplace Chai and Punkin Spice, Which are my special blends. In the summer months I make ice coffee and coldbert from my Papa.New guinea coffee.
We also provide catering services. What sets us apart is our originality. From our bags and our labels. To our logo. You will see elegance and exquisiteness.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?

At the time I was working in nursing which I had been in for the last twenty six years. So my income from working a 9=5 Help me start my business.

Any fun sales or marketing stories?

I was doing an event on bittersweet road. There was a lady there who said that she couldn’t drink coffee because it upset our stomach a lot. I asked her to try mine just to see what her thoughts were.So she said she wanted to try the ice coffee that I make with my Papua New Guinea coffee She came back to the table within the next 30 minit’s and said I can’t believe this coffee hasn’t made me sick or my stomach is not upset.She told me she loved my coffee. Best filling in the world when someone who doesn’t even drink.Coffee chose to drink my coffee.
