Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lucrecia Suarez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Lucrecia, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
Love the question :) A couple of years ago when I was working with ION Television, one of it segments was going to be dedicated to a non profit organization that helps kids who have aged out of foster care. I was honored to give these wonderful young ladies a makeover for their interview. It was such an impactful experience because of the stories they shared and how positive and optimistic these kids were.
Lucrecia, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Lucresia I am Latina and I have been living in Tampa for 20 years. I first got into the industry of make up artistry when I was hired by MAC cosmetics in 2013. I the retail world in 2016 and decided to freelance as a makeup artist on the weekends while working a full time office job. Early 2020 I was able to leave my full-time job and dedicate my time solely to building my makeup artistry career and business. This freedom has opened so many doors of opportunity and has allowed me to become better at my craft.
I’m very proud of my ability to ask the right questions to my clients so I can have their vision to come to life. I’ve also trained to provide a beautifully sculpted look with contour and blending.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
When it comes to social media, consistency is key! When I started sharing my makeup work online I would post under my personal page. I learned that creating a page specifically for my makeup work and business (niche), was less confusing for my viewers and allowed me to connect with other likeminded individuals and clients. I recommend to stay consistent and move with the flow of the trends.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The ability to make someone feel their most beautiful, especially on their wedding. It’s heartwarming to me.
