We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lucio Leonardi. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lucio below.
Lucio, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
when I was 15 and I started composing in various musical groups, but I already knew it from before, since I started studying the piano when I was 6 years old.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
my name is lucio leonardi and i have been playing for over 30 years, i studied piano from the age of 6 at the catania conservatory, sicily, since then i started to love music viscerally, as something that had to be done to make me feel good, and it is still like this.
I’ve played in various bands, from prog rock bands to post-metal, psychedelic, pop bands, but my career started when I thought of going it alone: first with Clones Theory (dark-wave with experimental elements), then with photographs (very dark, electronic, idm, sometimes avant-garde pop) and now with PLUHM, my main project, where I finally achieved what I really wanted to do (ambient-drone, mixed with neoclassical and avant-garde jazz).
with this latest project I have created various albums, where I probe the recesses of the human soul but also the parasitic nature of man.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
have no limits, always experiment, listen a lot, let go of the creative process without putting up walls.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
well, all Lars Von Trier films, readings like The Road by Cormac Mc Carthy, poems by Baudelaire, all happy stuff haha
