Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Luciana Ambrosino. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Luciana, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
For a long time, I dreamed of being able to fully experience my husband’s art (artist Fabian Perez) within our own space. I wanted us to have a venue where his work could be seen together, in abundance, and in one cohesive environment. A place that would reflect his identity as an artist and would allow the local community to truly understand and connect with his Neo-Emotionalism style. That dream stayed with me and Fabian for years before it finally took shape and our business grew from that personal dream into a reality situated in the Melrose Art District of Los Angeles, at the Fabian Perez Gallery of Neo-Emotionalism.
Living in Los Angeles, such a modern, dynamic, and pop-driven city, we always felt a strong desire to contribute Fabian’s collection as something different to the cultural conversation. While LA thrives on innovation and contemporary expression, this was the opportunity to introduce a more traditional, narrative driven style of art, one that feels timeless, cinematic, and deeply human. Art that transports viewers into worlds filled with nocturnal stories, realism, sensuality, and intrigue.
There are many spaces dedicated to trends, digital immediacy, or purely conceptual art, but very few that celebrate classical technique while still speaking to a modern audience. Our approach was not just about exhibiting his artworks, but about creating an atmosphere, an immersive experience that invites emotion, storytelling, and connection.
What excites us most was the opportunity to share this vision with the people of Los Angeles. To offer Angelenos a space where traditional art feels alive, relevant, and emotionally powerful in a city known for constant reinvention. This project was driven by both passion and intention: we were not simply opening a venue, we wanted to present the Neo-Emotionalism world, a world that reflects our love for art, storytelling, and meaningful human connection.

Luciana, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
For those who may not be familiar with us, our work is rooted in a deep respect for fine art. We truly believe that physical galleries are not dead. In a world where the majority of sales now take place digitally, we strongly believe that experiencing a work of art in person is incomparable. Seeing a piece face to face creates an emotional connection that simply cannot be replicated through a screen. The scale, texture, depth, and energy of a painting reveal themselves only when you stand in front of it, allowing the artwork to speak directly to you.
In the gallery, we provide original fine art works, limited edition prints, sculptures, books, framing services, hospitality projects, private portraits, and curated artistic experiences centered around figurative, emotionally charged paintings.
We also create opportunities for collectors and visitors to engage with the art on a personal level, whether through exhibitions, private viewings, and special events.
What we are most proud of is creating a space that allows people to slow down and connect, not only with the artwork, but with the stories and emotions behind it. We want potential clients, followers, and fans to know that our brand is built on intention, authenticity, and a genuine love for art. Everything we do is guided by the belief that art should move you, tell a story, and leave a lasting impression long after you leave the space.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
We stay in touch with clients through personalized communication and direct relationships. This includes one-on-one follow-ups, private viewings, invitations to exhibitions, and exclusive events at the gallery. We make an effort to understand each client’s preferences so every interaction feels intentional and relevant.
Brand loyalty is built by offering consistent, meaningful experiences. By creating a welcoming space, providing personal attention, and sharing the story behind the artwork, we turn clients into long-term supporters of the brand. Our focus is on trust, authenticity, and making each client feel genuinely connected to the art and to our gallery.

How’d you think through whether to sell directly on your own site or through a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc.
We sell exclusively through our own website and do not use third-party platforms such as Amazon, Etsy, or similar marketplaces. This is a deliberate choice, as we believe art should remain exclusive and carefully curated, rather than mass-distributed. Selling through our own platform allows us to control how the artwork is presented, maintain the integrity of the brand, and ensure that each piece is contextualized properly within our artistic vision.
While e-commerce offers convenience and global reach, we also recognize its limitations, especially in the art world. One of the main drawbacks is the lack of personal interaction with the client.
Another significant concern is copyright infringement. To sell artwork online, it must be presented in high quality with detailed visuals and descriptions. Unfortunately, this exposure increases the risk of copying, plagiarism, and unauthorized use. For us, protecting the originality and integrity of the artwork is essential, and this is another reason we are intentional and selective about how and where we sell.
Overall, our e-commerce approach prioritizes exclusivity, authenticity, and respect for the artwork over volume-based sales.
