Lucia , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you take us back in time to the first dollar you earned as a creative – how did it happen? What’s the story?
It was a beautiful sunny day when I walked into the small wedding chapel in my hometown at just 17 years old. I had always been passionate about photography, and I had a dream of starting my own wedding photography business. As I walked into the chapel, I felt a sense of excitement and determination. I approached the owner of the chapel and offered to hang out there and offer my photography services to couples and families. I explained to them that I would give them 20% of whatever packages I sold, as a way to show my appreciation for allowing me to use their space. The owner was intrigued by my offer and agreed to let me set up a small booth in the chapel. I was over the moon with excitement and couldn’t wait to get started. I started by offering free photo shoots to family and friends, in order to build up my portfolio and gain some experience. I wanted to show the chapel owner that I was serious about my business and that I was dedicated to providing high-quality photography services. As I started to gain more experience and build up my portfolio, I also offered to give the friends and family 10% of any shoot I booked that they referred to me. I wanted to show them that I was committed to building a my own business and that I valued their support. Word started to spread about my photography services, and soon I was booking shoots left and right. I was thrilled to see my business taking off, and I was grateful for the support I received from the chapel owner and the couples and families who trusted me to capture their special moments. As my business continued to grow, I never forgot the support I received from the chapel owner and the couples and families who believed in me. I was grateful for the opportunity to pursue my passion and build a successful wedding photography business. I am so grateful for the support I received from the chapel owner and the couples and families who trusted me to capture their special moments. I am living my dream, and I couldn’t be happier.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I offer natural light wedding and portrait photography, this includes babies, senior portraits, family portraits and weddings.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
What drives me is the desire to be my own boss and bring my vision into fruition.
Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
It is so important to find a mentor, reach out to people that you see living the life you wish to create and ask them how they did it.
