We were lucky to catch up with Lucas Mulvaugh recently and have shared our conversation below.
Lucas , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the best advice you ever gave to a client? How did they benefit / what was the result? (Please note this response is for education/entertainment purposes only and shouldn’t be construed as advice for the reader)
Our organization tends to give a version of the same advice to every individual we work with.
Every human on the earth has a purpose, a sacred destiny, a reason as to why they are physically present on this planet. This walk towards sacred purpose is a path of healing. It is a process of becoming whole and purifying all traumas, fears, negative thought patterns and coping behaviors that hold us back from becoming the best version of ourselves. When a person chooses to undertake this path of healing they make the conscious choice to reclaim their free will through forgiveness and respect; forgiveness of self, forgiveness of others, respect of self, respect of others. Through this healing process of purification and reclamation of free will, sacred purpose is revealed, wellness is created and people receive healing.
The most powerful and accessible ally in helping people purify and heal is the earth.
Direct connection with the earth and the elements of water, fire (heat) and air, helps to purify and transmute the trauma, fear, and associated patterns and behaviors people carry that prevent them from becoming whole, and the best version of themselves.
The following is an example of this process working. I have changed the individuals name to honor their privacy.
“Susan” was referred to us due to our success in working with people struggling with trauma and addiction. She had not had much success in traditional mental health modalities and wanted to try an alternative healing process. Susan suffered from addiction, co-dependency, severe childhood trauma, lack of self-love, lack of identity, anxiety, disassociation, and depression. She had gone through all the normal western medical processes to receive help, but nothing had worked.
When we first met Susan, we gave her the above advice, told her about the Sacred Walk healing program, and the associated practices that go along with that healing program. Susan felt as though our healing program resonated with her, so she agreed to work with us. She started the daily practices, began the reading, attended a private ceremony, and remained in consistent communication regarding her process.
In a period of 60 days, Susan became fully sober, stopped having anxiety, stopped disassociating, started to volunteer in the community to build self-love, began exploring ways to reconstruct her identity, set strong boundaries for herself, broke her pattern of co-dependency, alleviated her depression, and began purifying her trauma off her consciousness.
While undergoing this process of purification and reclamation of free will Susan began to notice the tangible changes in how she felt in her mind and body and how those changes directly impacted how she engaged with the world.
We always tell people, “the more active you are in this process the quicker you will notice transformation.” Susan has been very active in her healing process, and she has experienced profound transformation in a relatively short period of time.
These transformations and this healing are having a profound impact on her quality life, on her daughter’s life, and on her ability to step into her gifts.
This, at its core is what the Sacred Walk Initiative is all about. We help people to heal, find purpose and become the best version of themselves.
Lucas , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Our organization provides programs, activities, and ceremonies that assist people (adults and children) in their recovery and healing from a myriad of issues, namely; all types of trauma, pain, sickness, suffering, grief, anxiety, depression, negative thought patterns, negative self-talk, negative coping mechanisms, mental health issues, co-dependency, suicidal ideation and addiction.
There are several principles we follow that set our organization apart from others:
We do not commodify, or put a price on any of our work. It is all donation based. This choice is in alignment with the cosmic principle of giveaway. We believe it is a human responsibility to help others and share one’s gifts with the world.
We use spiritual tools that are pragmatic and accessible to everyone on the planet.
We work with people as though they are part of our family and community and not clients.
We breakdown the “guru” construct, and the components of the new age healing movement which are highly commodified and place people in positions of power and ego. This construct deters and inhibits people’s healing process, violates their free will, and disempowers them.
Due to our extensive experience in this field, and the amount of people we have assisted in their healing process (thousands), we have an in-depth understanding of the various multi-dimensional (spiritual/energetic issues) that impact individuals, and how those multi-dimensional issues impact mental health, physical health, and external reality.
Many of the individuals who come to us seeking help are struggling in their mental and physical health. They have participated in the western medical and mental health systems and have not found healing or relief for their issues. We are most proud of helping people heal that have not received the healing they need in the Western medical and mental health systems.
We are also proud of the ceremonies we have run that have tangibly saved people’s lives, and those ceremonies we have performed that have saved the lives of children.
We have a guarantee for every person we help. If the individual is willing to do the work and put in the effort to do their part, we will provide them unconditional support through their healing process and not give up until healing has been achieved.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
My business partner is my wife, Matlynn Snodgrass. The story of how we met is a story wrapped in love, beauty, tragedy, life and death.
Matlynn’s closest friend in the world was her cousin Anda. Anda was a very gifted musician who was also very spiritually gifted. Anda grew up in a Jehovah’s Witness family, and she was excommunicated from the church when she was 26 due to her sexuality, and the fact she actively questioned church doctrine and the male elders. Anda lived a pretty tortured existence, never really feeling accepted by her immediate family, and never feeling truly comfortable in her spiritual gifts and uniqueness.
Anda and Matlynn spent considerable amounts of time together. They supported each other, understood one another, confided in each other, and were “best” friends.
On April 2, 2016 Anda was on a hike with her partners on the Pine Creek Falls trail in Paradise Valley Montana. Winter was slowly moving into spring, so there was still considerable snow on the trail and around Pine Creek itself. Pine Creek falls is a large waterfall that is several hundred feet long, and in the early spring would be covered in ice and snow. Anda and her partners reached the top of the falls, and while attempting to cross the creek at the top of the falls, Anda slipped on the ice and went over the falls, falling to her death.
Following this tragedy I was contacted by Anda’s Aunt, and asked to run the crossing over ceremonies for Anda’s passing.
Crossing over ceremonies are performed for people who have died to protect their journey to the spirit world. I did not know Anda, but whenever I am asked to run crossing over ceremonies for someone who has died, I always oblige as it is my sacred duty to help with these matters.
The first ceremony I performed for Anda had around 15 participants, and most were close relatives and friends of Anda. As we were standing around the fire and I was being introduced to everyone, Anda’s Aunt introduced me to Matlynn Snodgrass. I looked at Matlynn and said hello, but was taken aback both at the depth of her eyes, and the suffering and sadness contained in those eyes.
At the time I was focused on the task at hand of running the ceremony, and did not place much thought on my interaction with Matlynn. The ceremony went well, and the necessary prayers were made for Anda’s spirit to transition successfully.
Following Anda’s memorial service, I performed one more ceremony for the family, with the intention of this ceremony being more on the healing of grief for those who were close to Anda. Matlynn also attended this ceremony, and I was again struck by the depth and power of her eyes, but also noticed that the grief and suffering that was held previously had dissipated considerably. Following this ceremony everyone that had traveled to Montana for Anda’s services returned home, and Matlynn went back to Wyoming. Before Matlynn left I told her that if she ever needed anything to let me know, and she said thank you and gave me her phone number.
After about two weeks, I kept getting a strong push to contact Matlynn, so I reached out to her. From there the rest is history. We were married a little over a year later on August 4 2017, and we just celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary.
Matlynn and I would not have met if Anda would not have tragically died on April 2, 2016. The Sacred Walk Initiative would not exist if Matlynn and I had not met. In those 7 years, Matlynn and I have run hundreds of ceremonies, and helped countless people. We have helped people by working together as a team. Anda’s passing has birthed love and healing for many.
We thank you Anda, and honor you for bringing this love and partnership into our lives.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
There are several character traits that help foster success in the field of healing, wellness and personal growth.
1) Kindness and the ability to exude unconditional love in all situations, especially those that may be difficult or conflict oriented.
2) Humility and the disintegration of the ego.
3) Self-awareness and the ability to be radically honest with one’s self.
4) The ability to be a “hollow bone”. Meaning we have purified all trauma’s, fears, mis-qualifications, and imbalances from our consciousness that could interfere in our ability to assist others in their healing process.
