We recently connected with Lucas Beaufort and have shared our conversation below.
Lucas, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
In 2018 I went to Montreal to paint my biggest mural ever. It was something like 25 x 25 Meters. I have painted 588 characters on it, it was epic as I’m scared of heights.
When it was done I knew I wanted to come back to add colors. In 2023 I felt the need to come back and I realized that I created a grid so I can make 2 characters kissing each other.
This mural is highly inspired by John Lennon song “Imagine”.
Let’s Love each other
Lucas, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Lucas Beaufort, I’m a French artist inspired by others. Since day one, I’ve been traveling the world as much as I can to meet people and create bridges between us. I always wanted to bring people together so I painted it. All the murals and canvases I have created highlight this idea to be connected with the world and to share this movement, to spread the love.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My first mission is to live the life I want to live. We live in the world where 90% of people hate what they do. So I feel grateful to be able to do something that makes sense for me. I love to spread this idea of trying your best to make your life better by being yourself.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is to inspire people. When you get a message from a kid telling you that he wants to paint because of you, this is the best feeling ever.
