We recently connected with Lt. Sunnie and have shared our conversation below.
Lt. Sunnie , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Being a business owner can be really hard sometimes. It’s rewarding, but most business owners we’ve spoken sometimes think about what it would have been like to have had a regular job instead. Have you ever wondered that yourself? Maybe you can talk to us about a time when you felt this way?
Being a full-time entertainer has shown me how to stay enthusiastic about the work, know the difference between a paycheck and an investment, be sure to always take care of myself, and continue to build authentic relationships everywhere I go,
In the beginning of my journey becoming an entertainer I had no idea that I was an entertainer because I have been entertaining all my life. It wasn’t until I was introduced to other entrepreneurs and artists who actually helped me beef up my skill set and show me a different way. Community means everything to me and I think it’s the best thing you can build around yourself to make sure you are successful in your future!
Lt. Sunnie , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a dynamic multi-disciplinary artist out of the heart of Minneapolis, Minnesota! Through my passion of rap , singing, and dance – I create art for all people to pull inspiration and light from. I’ve has graced audiences at venues across the country! I am also the host of “The Sex Talk Podcast By. Lt. Sunnie”. An analytical research based podcast centering Big Body, Queer, black, fem folks – cultivating quality conversation to normalize communication about sex, sexuality, and sensuality. With an inspirational, uplifting, and bold expression, I always bring light to the importance of freedom, identity, and individuality. And I am always ready to shine with you!
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
How I am building my audience on social media is through authenticity. I strive to be myself 100% wherever I go. In my younger years, I had to learn some very hard and expensive lessons on how building inauthentic relationships and audiences can crumble when once you show who you really are or the true direction you want to go. My best advice is to always be you!
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
Engagement! Have conversations, ask and answer questions. Be kind, thoughtful, and aware. Be honest. Be you!
