Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lovesbond Sterling-Uyanwune. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Lovesbond thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
Creativity and the arts have always brought me a sense of satisfaction unmatched by anything else. My journey began in high school with drawing portraits of people, using charcoal and blending stumps as a means to capture the aesthetic nature of my imagination. I loved drawing, even in the technical aspect. It reminded me of freedom—the notion that I can start anywhere, go in any direction, pivot, twist, and turn.
I once veered away from my creative pursuits to prepare myself for the “real” world, honing my skills for the workforce while in college. Three years into studying international law and diplomacy, I was hit with a sudden existential dread, and I remember it too. Sitting in class, everyone’s attention on the presentation, I glanced around, hoping to find someone who shared my disconnect and the question: “What exactly are we doing?” But I was alone in my angst. With the weeks passing, my thoughts expanded: “What is the purpose of this? Why am I here?” The realization struck me: head into the world, secure a job, and repeat this cycle till the end? A life of work, missed celebrations, and the potential of growing old distanced from loved ones. In all honesty, I was getting increasingly offended. It didn’t take long before practically every fiber of my being rose in protest against the system–this hostile environment it found itself in. Every day- forced to serve a capitalist agenda without even a safety net, with increased costs of living, rising inflation, and don’t let me get started on the financial credit system. These events unfolded simultaneously, and as I gazed at the stars, an undeniable truth emerged. All of us, including you, the reader, are simply conscious beings on a planet, dare i say “rock,” adrift in space. With that in mind, the question really does echo: “What are we really doing?”
Clarity eventually emerged; You see, everything about the world around us has no meaning. Once you fundamentally understand this as an objective part of reality, you can then assign meaning to all of it. You can relax into your being, as the creator you are. Remember this; to live a life of intention, one of personal driven purpose, Is it’s own guarantee of a life well lived.

Lovesbond, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Marcello Gandini, the Italian designer responsible for the Lamborghini Miura and Countach, said; “To create exceptional things, you must have complete freedom.” I spent the last 11 months in Los Angeles doing that. Free of the constraints of working a 9-5, a side gig, etc., Instead I focused on creating space to grow exponentially. A first-hand experience of what it takes to build from scratch.
I’m a founder and entrepreneur. But above all these, I’m an artist. Embodying the belief that artists are civilizing agents for society, creating confidence for a society. It’s quite a thing; My company is called Brigatt. A luxury art house that merges mediums of expression around luxury goods, beginning with fragrance and film. A dedicated passion to the beautification of society. Brigatt is more than just making a living from my creative prowess; Using scent to inspire characters and visual elements of a film is all part of a dynamic approach to reinforcing ideas that impact people. I’ve always had a fascination with cinema. Art imitates life—characters in their own intricate worlds, creating these new and aspirational societies, modeling aspects of our reality. I always thought it was a privilege to witness someone surrender their identity and morph into someone else. ‘The muse’s call” if you will. This is the expectation I have for people who use my products. That they too can surrender to the muse’s call, to bring our cinematic universe to life. Products made in our image, not for our image.
The means of impacting society need not fall exclusively to politics and government. Anything that moves an individual can move a nation if amplified correctly. Beyond products, companies must reflect the moral principles that are evident of the society in which they were founded, backed by the character and ethics of their founders. The beautification of society begins with the mind. This is the way.

Have you ever had to pivot?
Pivot in life.
Transitioning from a 9-5 to being a full time artist.
Satisfaction and fulfillment in the things you do everyday is important to me. Each of us has an obligation to discover who we are and determine what our purpose should be.
This is who I am, art is my unifier. It never fails to interpret our human condition. akin to many artists, i never really saw myself as an “artist”, but conviction gave way to directional correctness. You don’t have to get it right the first time, but knowing that “space” is exactly where you need to be, is everything. Across all mediums of expression, photography and film spoke to me. It’s format offers a permanence against the backdrop of mortality. This “space” of storytelling is exactly where i need and want to be.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Being an artist forces you to confront purpose and identity. To engage life with understanding and knowledge, from self to the world around you.
Art is exploration.
Artistry is about asserting the mastery of oneself
Being an artist is to be brave.
Living a purposeful life stops you from wasting time and money on things that don’t matter.
Today, I still challenge the confines of my reality. I am compelled to push those boundaries and test my limits. Transforming my reality to the closest equivalence of my vision. Who are you not to question the premise of your reality? To accept without query, subscribe without understanding the terms? There may not be an accepted universal rulebook on “how to live,” but I subscribe to the notion that your life has to mean something. A contribution of sorts to the greater glory of human understanding and advancement. Some may call it arrogance and grandiosity, but to me, anything less is mediocrity, and I will never stand for it. Live your life however you want. but don’t complain about the results you get.
