We recently connected with Lourdes Rosales and have shared our conversation below.
Lourdes, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
One of the things that sets my work apart is my redefinition of the role of string instruments in entertainment, particularly in high-end and non-traditional spaces. I am a classically trained violist from Spain, and I hold three university degrees and two master’s degrees in music and performance. However, instead of following the traditional career path expected of a classical violist, I made the decision to break the mould.
I co-own the US entertainment company Rebel Strings LLC with Naxo Lara, and I work internationally as an electro-acoustic violist and electric violinist. I have toured the US, Latin America, and Europe, sharing the stage with renowned artists such as Joe Jackson, Destripando la Historia, and Isabel Pantoja. What makes my work unique is the way I combine elegance, energy and innovation, fusing classical precision with cutting-edge technology, custom electric instruments, and a modern visual aesthetic.
This approach challenges industry norms and connects with audiences in a fresh, emotional way. Whether we’re performing at an intimate luxury event in New York or a massive festival in Latin America, our goal is to create a lasting impression. We don’t just provide music — we deliver an experience that’s vibrant, unforgettable and profoundly human.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’ve always believed that music should be lived, not just heard. What began as a traditional journey through conservatories in Spain evolved into something far more personal: a blend of classical discipline and immersive, modern performance. Today, my craft is rooted in versatility. I collaborate with luxury event planners, visual artists, and tech teams to create multisensory shows that speak to both the heart and the imagination. Whether performing a custom arrangement of a client’s favorite song or composing string lines for a visual installation, I bring intention, elegance, and soul to every project.
My work lives at the intersection of tradition and bold reinvention. I’m deeply involved in the creative process, from concept to execution, which means my clients aren’t just hiring a musician—they’re working with a storyteller. I’m proud to serve as a brand ambassador for Glasser NY and Larsen Strings North America, whose ongoing support has empowered me to develop both sides of my artistic journey: from the educational outreach of SciFi Ensemble, where we inspire young musicians through technology and cinematic, video game and anime music, to the entrepreneurial vision behind Rebel Strings, redefining live entertainment for high-end events. Their partnership has helped turn my creative ideas into tangible, meaningful experiences—rooted in innovation, connection, and artistic excellence.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn was the idea that success in music only comes by following a rigid, traditional path. For a long time, I thought I had to fit into a specific mold—be the “perfect” classical violist, audition for orchestras, wait for someone to give me a chance. But the truth is, the most powerful opportunities in my life came when I started breaking that model.
I learned to follow my curiosity—to ask “what if?” instead of “what’s allowed?” That shift led me to explore electric violins, to build my own business, to travel the world doing something that didn’t really exist when I started. I had to let go of fear and bet on a dream that felt bigger than me. That’s what opened the door to creating my own stage, instead of waiting to be invited to someone else’s.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
I met my co-founder, Naxo Lara, during a tour with the Film Symphony Orchestra. He’s an exceptional violinist from Spain, classically trained at top conservatories in Belgium and France. We instantly connected over our shared passion for cinematic music and the desire to break the mold of traditional string playing. When the pandemic hit, like many artists, we found ourselves at a crossroads—so we decided to take a leap and create our own ensemble dedicated to the music we loved: SciFi Ensemble, focused on film, anime, and video game soundtracks.
After a couple of years performing across different stages, our vision evolved. We expanded our repertoire and began specializing in luxury events, giving birth to Rebel Strings—our entertainment branch that brings high-end, visually striking electric string performances to weddings and exclusive productions. Meanwhile, SciFi Ensemble took on a more educational path. Through it, we now inspire youth orchestras by introducing them to electric instruments, music technology, and modern string techniques—all through the storytelling power of pop culture and epic music.
