We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Lourdes Quiros Lamadrid a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Lourdes , thanks for joining us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
It is my desire to leave behind a legacy for the children whom I have had the pleasure of instructing in my classes. A legacy which is not just built upon academics but also instills in my students the values of kindness, gratitude, and happiness. These are values that will benefit them as they grow into adults. I hope as they practice these values in adulthood, that they will remember me and all the love that I put into their class instructions as fondly as I will remember each of them.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Lourdes Quiros Lamadrid, “Miss Lulu” to my students, and I am the owner and founder of Lulu’s Montessori Bilingual Education.
In our Montessori program, we focus on an individualized curriculum, which provides an excellent educational foundation for children between the ages 2 to 6 years old.
Our Montessori Bilingual program offers a welcoming, stimulating environment that cultivates the children’s independence, self-esteem, social activity and academic potential. We give each child individual attention to help lay the foundation for a lifelong love of learning
Our students and their families are our most important assets at Lulu’s Montessori. We strive to provide a strong education for our students and value the input of their families. That is why we foster an environment of a transparent curriculum and open communication with the families, which has been a big part of our success.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Over the last thirteen years, Lulu’s Montessori has earned an excellent reputation in our community through the countless recommendations and testimonials of the families whose children have been part of our program. We appreciate all their support, as word-of-mouth endorsements have been the most vital part of our growing success.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
When you enjoy your chosen vocation, you work harder at it every day, however, if you truly love what you are doing, you are not really working at all. I get as much, if not more, out of teaching my students as I hope they do.
