Lourdes, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start big picture – what are some of biggest trends you are seeing in your industry?
One of the biggest trends we are seeing in our industry in 2024 is garage organization, and we love that! Historically, the garage has often been a room in the house that turns into a storage unit that is so cluttered you can barely walk through it, much less park a car. Now we are seeing a move towards homeowners wanting to declutter their garages and turn them into functional rooms where you can actually find the items you need when you need them. In the South Florida area, we also see that many times the garage houses the washing machine and dryer and often serves as a mudroom as well. When we work with clients on a garage project, we prioritize installing shelving units that can hold storage items in airtight bins as well as back stock household items such as toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, etc., and if the garage is also functioning as the laundry room, we create storage solutions for laundry cleaners, ironing boards, and cleaning supplies. We recently worked with a client where we were able to organize her garage so that it was both beautiful and functional for all the purposes she needed! She had multiple shelving units and built-in shelves, so we filled the shelving units with airtight storage bins that contained less used storage items, like holiday decorations and travel items. We also used part of the shelving units to hold back stock cleaning and paper good items as well as tools. We utilized plastic containers with lids in the built-in shelves to house more frequently used items like craft supplies. We organized the laundry area so that it was free of clutter in order to easily access laundry cleaners and the iron/ironing board. In the end, the client was extremely satisfied that she could walk all around her garage without encountering clutter and she could quickly find exactly what she was looking for!

Lourdes, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
From a young age, I have had a passion for design and organizing. Initially, I pursued a corporate career where I was working from 9-5 every day because that is what I felt like I was supposed to do–get a stable job with steady work to support myself. As time went on though, I realized that I was not personally fulfilled working in this corporate role. I fell in love with the idea of becoming my own boss, developing and leading my own team, directly impacting the community in a positive way, and utilizing my design and organizing skills in my work each day. My passion for designing beautiful and organized homes that minimize chaos led me to open Bee Organized Miami in 2020. Since then I have had the honor of working with amazing clients each week as we work to transform their homes into beautiful, customized, organized spaces that create a peaceful and relaxing environment!
Bee Organized Miami is a professional home organizing business. Our desire is to come alongside our clients and help them simplify their homes and lives. We believe that your home should be a welcoming place where you can relax and be at peace, not one overwhelmed by chaos and clutter. Our goal is to create systems of organization for our clients that are realistic and sustainable but also customized and beautiful. During the organizing process, we embody our core beliefs of being compassionate, confidential, and non-judgmental toward our clients. I am most proud of the design aspect that we bring to the services we provide, and I think that sets us apart from other organizing businesses! At each job, we not only strive to create systems of organization, but we also place an important emphasis on making those systems of organization beautiful. We spend time sourcing the perfect products and labels that will make a space functional but also elevate the interior design of the home.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I think the design aspect that we bring to our projects helped build our reputation within our market. Our clients love that we care about making their space beautiful as well as functional. In an era where people want their homes to be clutter-free and also aesthetically pleasing, we have been able to meet that need and have become known as the organizers who create beautiful work!

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing our clientele has been through customer referrals. We have amazing clients who are very loyal and supportive, and they have been so kind as to refer us to their friends and family who often choose to partner with us to organize their homes! Networking and developing relationships with other industry professionals has also been a source of new clientele for us. We have a connection with a wonderful interior designer who has referred us to many of her clients who are in need of help organizing after completing a remodeling project.
