We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Louise Brazitis. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Louise below.
Louise, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a client that you appreciate them?
Proactive and timely communication is key for clients to feel appreciated and develop a sense of trust. This concept is something I learned early in my career working in wealth management and managing clients’ investment portfolios, and now as a real estate agent, I am very thoughtful and proactive on this front. Being available to answer questions or seek out answers is pivotal in real estate, and I pride myself on being knowledgable myself to empower my clients to make the best decision possible given the information available. Before transitioning to real estate, I worked in private wealth management and was very involved in the movement of money, client requests, investment trades, charitable gifts of stock, and quarterly tax payments. Each of these responsibilities entailed detailed communication with internal support teams along with responding to clients and keeping them thoroughly updated. While delays occurred or other unexpected circumstances arose, showing clients appreciation when confirming something was complete or delivering news of a delay or missed deadline always made them feel important and appreciated. Now in real estate, clients feel more confident and prepared when making a decision given the proactive communication we always practice at Roxan Coffman Properties.

Louise, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a real estate agent with Roxan Coffman Properties. My wealth management background, attention to detail, and high energy make me a loyal and trusted advisor to all of my clients. Since working in financial services, I instill knowledge and insight when approaching a transaction and understanding the importance of each real estate investment decision. As a fifth-generation Austinite who has lived in many other parts of the country, I have an edge in truly understanding and appreciating the importance of home. Austin is growing by the day with people moving here from all over the world. I can speak firsthand to the experience of living here for 20+ years but also moving to Austin in more recent years and navigating a competitive real estate market. Roxan Coffman Properties specializes in residential real estate, and our team has over 40 years of experience in Central Texas. I am most proud of working for a local broker that can compete with the larger, more corporate brokerages, and I cherish the genuine relationships I have in my life with family, friends, clients, and colleagues.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I have been very fortunate in my professional career to pursue opportunities in various parts of the country, starting with my first job after college working for a large bank in Philadelphia. Being from Austin, Texas, living in Philadelphia was a culture shock to say the least, and working in a male dominated industry as a new college graduate was challenging but helped me to become more resilient and outspoken early on in my career. I was fortunate to spend a year at a large institution with a training class that had other women and was led by a great female role model. We were given many opportunities to engage with and present to senior management, and I learned the structure and inner workings of a large company all within my first year out of college. I eventually pursued an opportunity to join a smaller investment firm to take on more responsibility working more directly with clients and supporting a seasoned veteran of the firm. Our clients had high expectations, and everyday presented a new challenge. I was surrounded by extremely intelligent people and learned so much every day. Personally being far away from home and professionally being put to the test on a regular basis helped me to become the most resilient version of myself. I felt prepared to do all of this after playing Division I field hockey for the University of North Carolina Tar Heels where our team won two national championships. Any challenging day in the office or working on a demanding client assignment made me think, “Atleast I’m not running sprint tests this morning…” All of these experiences were possible to tackle with the support and network of great teams, managers, and coaches. After transitioning to real estate, I am thankful to have so many lessons learned whether it was on the field or in the office to face any hurdle. I am naturally outgoing and not shy to ask questions, so I have built a great network and worked to have various teams whether it’s within my office, with other agents, or vendor partners, to build my business and serve clients to the best of my ability.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
A lesson I had to unlearn was that everything has structure and order. From my days in college and then going straight to the corporate world, both working for a large institution as well as a small but established investment firm, my days were very structured and scheduled. Between class, practice, games, and then working in the highly regulated world of financial services, you could typically find an answer or equation to just about anything. While it wasn’t necessarily an easy road at times, it was prescribed. And I have learned that I do function well with structure and routine. But while I was still working for the smaller investment firm, I relocated to Nashville to work in one of their new satellite offices. While we were still under a corporate umbrella, we very much had to figure out a lot of things on our own, whether that was creating more brand awareness in a new market or how to fix the office printer in a pinch. I learned to be resourceful in a small office, and I created my own structure and order for myself and our small team. After moving back to Austin, I had the opportunity to join a real estate tech startup that required a lot of creativity and outside of the box thinking. And now as a real estate agent, my days are truly different each and every day, and I am able to be creative and flexible yet busy and fulfilled in ways I did not know were possible. I am grateful for the support I have at Roxan Coffman Properties as Roxan is a true trailblazer who has paved an incredible path and just gets things done whether there is a prescribed expectation or not. While my background and experience involved many structured environments, I’m grateful to have been tested to think outside the box, create my own structure when I need it, but to also pivot and thrive in times of uncertainty to accomplish my goals.
