We were lucky to catch up with Louis Buralda recently and have shared our conversation below.
Louis , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
Since a child, I have always felt a star presence; I just needed a stage. I did not grow up having everything mapped out with music. Always living in a world of creativity but the control part came years later. I felt myself putting in long hours at the studio but not reaping any benefits. I continued in my persistency with the music regardless of my expectation and started developing a fanbase. With enough viral moments I began gaining recognition.

Louis , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I was always surrounded by music growing up in the Bronx. At a young age I developed a skill for word play. My image is revolved around being a scholar in literature. Thats how I birthed my logo which is an envelope with a heart in the center.
I started preforming at local open mics in ATLANTA. The smaller events gave me the opportunity to perform at bigger venues along side other artist heavily known in the industry.
The combination of my performances and dropping music frequently led to a major following. During the heat of my success I was also approached by a couple record deals but I never signed due to creative differences. I always took pride and building my success from the ground up.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I had to learn that it’s not how skilled you are; but how HARD you work. I learned that you are not owed anything just because you are talented. The true gift is persuading people into thinking that your “special”.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
You have to have a lot of patience and resilience when it comes to legalities and music. If you are an artist it is a must you have your business affairs in order. Make sure you own every instrumental. Prioritize having all your published work copy-written. Your business is yours and if you do sign a deal, come in as a partner. Those procedures alone took a lot of resilience.
