Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lorine Siefert & Wendy Corley. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Lorine & Wendy, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
At the core of our mission is education. I know that sounds crazy coming from a salon, but it’s so important! Education starts with our team. We strive to continue to grow our knowledge and hone our skills. That information is passed to our guest. We firmly believe in order for our guest to recreate their desired look they have to know how and what to use. We believe that when you look good you feel good and we want to equip you to achieve that daily!!
Before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Lorine Siefert and Wendy Corley are co-owners of Bratt Salon with over 30 years combined in the beauty industry! Both owners wanted to create a space that was inviting, comfortable, luxurious, and safe for not just our guests but for a team to form and grow with one another. In fact, one thing that sets us apart is our work environment. We all have the mentality that we all can (and will) win especially if we work together. Sometimes that looks like we aid in ideas or challenge each other. When you create a work environment that gives you the space to learn your creativity will blossom!
Bratt Salon is a full service salon and spa. Services include a range of haircare (styling, cutting, coloring, treatments, and texture services,) Skin care (waxing, facials, treatments) and nail care (natural and artificial).
We are passionate about helping our clients achieve their cosmetic goals.
Lastly, we live by the saying “Locals support Local”! We look for opportunities to give back to our communities and get involved. This includes (but not limited to) volunteering haircuts for places like Ronald McDonald House Charities, organizing donation drives for local non-profits, donating to schools and youth sports etc.
Currently we house five small businesses in our boutique area and are looking to grow that number over this year.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
We have learned over the course of owning a business that it is one giant pivot. As soon as you think you found the rhythm something changes and you adjust.
We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
We met working at another salon. We recognized that both of us had curly hair and bonded over that. If you have textured hair you know how hard it is to find someone who can work with curls/texture. Through the years we had spoken hypothetically of what our idea of the perfect salon would look like. So, when it came time to open the doors of a new salon working together was a no brainer!
