We were lucky to catch up with Lorin Castillo recently and have shared our conversation below.

Lorin , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?

I think it takes a lot of courage! You have to be a certain type of person to put your mind to something and not be afraid to take a chance on yourself. The hardest thing about success, is not giving up on yourself when it gets hard. Because it will definitely be hard. So the advice that I try to stick with is…..What is your WHY? Why did you start? Why do you want this to work? Everyone wants to be successful in life, everyone wants to help in some sort of way, but it will all depend on YOU and do you want it bad enough. Hang on and stay strong!

I am Lorin Castillo and I am a Licensed Realtor with JPAR Real Estate in the DFW/Metroplex. I help people discover the power of homeownership and help guide people into the buying or selling process. I have a passion for helping others and helping clients achieve goals in Real Estate. I am proud to be an advocate for my community in being a source and outlet to provide advice. I have a motto in life ” If I have the knowledge, why not share.”

I am a mother and a wife with 2 dogs. My family is my motivation and they are what keeps me going and continuing to pursue my dreams and achieve my yearly goals.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?

If you are new in the industry or any industry really and you are needing to build your business, I have found that letting everyone you know what you are up to now and how you can help will help. Pass out your business cards , join church groups, join the PTA at your kids school. The more you are out in front of people, the more business you will get.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

Before covid took over the world, I was working an 8-5 job and making decent money. I was definitely comfortable where I was at, but I did not love it. So when covid forced the small company I worked for to make some tough decisions and let people go, I was one of them. That was really scary! knowing I just lost an income and nobody was hiring!! I decided I wanted to be in charge of my career and Real Estate has always interest me. So I took the leap of faith and worked really hard for my license and now I am here and never looking back!
