We were lucky to catch up with Lori Lenhart recently and have shared our conversation below.
Lori, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What was your school or training experience like? Share an anecdote or two that you feel illustrate important aspects or the overall nature of your schooling/training experience.
I obtained my first degree from the University of Florida in 2006, and during my training I realized that what drew me most strongly to healthcare was not only the science, but the privilege of caring for people during vulnerable moments in their lives. I found that I genuinely enjoyed sitting with patients, listening to their stories, and understanding the concerns that brought them in. Those experiences taught me early on that good care is not just about diagnosing and treating a condition, but also about taking the time to make patients feel heard, respected, and understood.
One of the most formative parts of my education was spending a semester studying abroad in Poland. Immersing myself in another culture and seeing firsthand how medicine is practiced in a different country had a lasting impact on me. It broadened my perspective on healthcare delivery and showed me that while resources, systems, and approaches may vary, compassion and human connection remain at the center of good medicine everywhere. That experience strengthened both my adaptability and my appreciation for learning from people whose backgrounds and experiences differ from my own.
Another important part of my training and personal growth came through medical mission work. My husband and I participated in several medical mission trips to developing countries, where we lead and worked alongside teams to set up clinics and pharmacies that often served more than 400 patients in a single day. Those trips were humbling and deeply meaningful. They reinforced the importance of teamwork, resourcefulness, and service, and they reminded me how much can be accomplished when a group comes together with a shared purpose. They also deepened my belief that community involvement matters, which continues to shape how I live and serve in my current community today.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Allori Wellness was founded on the belief that true wellness begins by understanding the whole person, not simply treating isolated symptoms. Our approach is rooted in functional medicine principles and a commitment to personalized care. We created the practice for people who are looking for more than temporary solutions – people who want to understand why they are experiencing fatigue, hormone imbalance, poor recovery, brain fog, or other signs that their body is out of balance, and who are ready for a more thoughtful path forward.
Through medical-guided, evidence-based care, Allori Wellness offers peptide therapy, hormone optimization, hormone replacement therapy, recovery protocols, and structured wellness pathways through a convenient telehealth platform. What makes our work different is that we do not believe in one-size-fits-all wellness. Every client’s history, physiology, and goals are different, so every plan should be too. We focus on identifying root causes, creating individualized strategies, and supporting clients with care that is both clinically grounded and deeply personal.
What I am most proud of is building a brand that values both results and relationships. At Allori Wellness, we want people to feel seen, heard, and supported – not rushed through a process or handed a generic solution. We are committed to helping our clients restore balance, improve vitality, and build long-term wellness in a way that is sustainable and aligned with their real lives. That philosophy continues to shape everything we do and remains at the heart of the Allori Wellness brand.

Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
Other than training and knowledge, I believe the most important qualities for success in this field are listening, curiosity, compassion, and the ability to build trust. Functional medicine is not about rushing to treat isolated symptoms – it is about understanding the whole person. That requires taking the time to truly hear what a patient is experiencing, asking thoughtful questions, and looking deeper to identify the root cause of imbalance.
I also believe empathy and connection are essential. Many people come to wellness care feeling frustrated, overlooked, or discouraged. Creating a space where they feel heard and supported can be just as important as the treatment plan itself. When patients trust you, they become more engaged in their care, and that partnership often leads to better and more sustainable outcomes.
At the end of the day, success in this field comes from combining clinical expertise with human connection. The science matters, but so does the ability to listen carefully, think critically, and care deeply about helping each person feel better in a lasting, meaningful way.

Let’s talk M&A – we’d love to hear your about your experience with buying businesses.
