Reflecting on the past five years of steering Bloom my CBD topicals business, I’ve come to realize that the heartbeat of our success lies in the profound connection between the products we create and the deep well of emotions within my own healing journey.

My struggles with ADD type 2 and PCOS created a need for my to craft healing products from a deep place inside my heart. I believe it’s this authenticity that resonates with our customers. The products help heal me and because of this they can do this for others.

Bloom, the culmination of this unintentional yet serendipitous journey, is a manifestation of self-love and self-soothing. In a way, the business has been an integral part of my own therapeutic process, and the products are a testament to the abundance of that cultivation. They’re not just items on a shelf; they’re a reflection of my personal growth and a sincere desire to share that journey with others.

I think any business founder requires a foundation of passion and follow through. An authentic love and authentic desire to share the abundance of that product or service. People want to feel like the brands they interact with genuinely care and live in alignment with what the brand stands for and is offering.

I also think that passion and authentic connection to what you are offering is integral into committing to the cultivation of the brand long term as well.

Sure! I’m Lori Button, and my journey with plant medicine and self-care began as a personal odyssey to manage the challenges of ADD type 2 and PCOS, which have been constants in my adult life. Searching for relief, I discovered the power of combining plant medicine and therapeutic soaks to support my overall well-being.

The spark that ignited my venture into crafting CBD bath bombs started with a heartfelt Christmas gift for close friends. While working as a nanny, I wanted to share something I was truly passionate about. Little did I know, this simple act of generosity would set off a chain reaction. A few months later, my boss’s aunt placed an order for 17 bath bombs, and from there, I found myself selling batches on Instagram. It was like a snowball effect, or perhaps I should say a “bath bombing” effect, as the demand continued to grow.

Motivated by my own journey, I expanded my product line to include salves and rollers that addressed the pain and inflammation associated with my conditions. These formulations not only brought me relief but also extended that comfort to others facing similar struggles. Witnessing the healing and respite my products offer fills me with immense joy.

One thing I’m steadfast about is the commitment to quality in my products. I refuse to cut corners in formulations or production. Each creation is crafted with the intention of being a gift from my heart to a loved one, aimed at making them feel better in their own skin.

Have you ever had to pivot?

When I embarked on the journey of creating Bloom in 2019, my primary aspiration was actually rooted in music. I was on the verge of completing a full album, with music being my initial and foremost passion. However, there was an unmistakable call from deep within my soul urging me to build Bloom, even though it initially felt like a diversion.

Despite being 90% through the creation of my music album, I chose to pivot and focus on Bloom. It was a decision guided by intuition, a gut feeling that often defies logic. Little did I know at the time that the music industry would face unprecedented challenges starting in 2020.

In retrospect, I’m grateful that I listened to that inner voice. The landscape of the music industry has shifted significantly, and Bloom has become not just a business but a source of joy, healing, and connection for many. Intuition, I believe, is a compass in the entrepreneurial journey, and in my case, it proved to be a crucial guide.

In any endeavor, there’s a delicate dance between passion and intuition. While my initial passion was in music, my intuition led me towards creating a line of products that resonates deeply with others. Bloom has become a testament to the power of following one’s instincts, even when the path seems unconventional.

CBD, unfortunately, often carries a placebo effect reputation, but I’m thrilled to stand behind formulas that go beyond perception – they are safe, effective, and people genuinely feel the difference.
