We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Lori Bregman a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Lori , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
My parents always believed in me they also allowed me to make mistakes and allow me to fall or fail. They could see that I was going down a path that I might get hurt but they trusted that I would find my way and learn from this. And they were there afterwards to help me process the lesson. This helped me believe in myself and understand that in trying something new I would sometimes make mistakes and fail and that was part of taking a risk, knowing that this was helping me learn and grow by finding what works and what doesn’t.
Lori , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a doula, life and wellness coach. I have been doing this for 25 years and supported over 1,000 plus births as well as countless families through the journey into parenthood and beyond. I was always drawn to working with pregnant women and babies and through all my learning and schooling I did I geared it all towards creating a solid foundation for the mama and her baby to grow from. A lot of this passion of mine stemmed from my moms pregnancy and birth with me and how I was imprinted from this experience. I always try to show up authentically knowing that when you’re being yourself and putting the real you out there you will attract the people that are naturally drawn to you. I also build solid relationships with my clients, getting to know them deeply and then working with them as an individual, Tailoring the way I work with them to suit their needs. No two women, births, journeys, families, couples have ever been the same. I always am growing and learning and never want to stop! the kind of doula I was a year ago isn’t the same doula I am today.. I also am a huge fan of supporting other women. I love seeing my friends and other women thrive , shine and do well. From all my years of working i have created a interactive virtual community for moms and moms to be called the mama portal that I am launching soon! It’s going to be epic!!! So passionate and fired up about helping so many women for an affordable price all over the world. You can check it out here and sign up on the waitlist https://www.loribregman.com/mama-portal
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Before I fully stepped into my doula work I was also doing body and healing work and was doing a few births here and there. There was a point that I lost my passion and excitement for the healing and body work I was doing and was drawn more to my coaching and doula work. My life coach Michele Michele spoke to me about bridging. That in order to build the new I had to maintain the old. The old was a bridge that sustained my life while I was building the new. So I was doing both ant the same time but Eventually I built the new and the bridge fell away. During that time I sacrificed a lot but my resilience kept me going as I took a risk and followed my passion
We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
I am co founder of a superfood smoothie and powdered vitamin company called seedlyfe www.seedlyfe.com We have smoothie blends for fertility, pregnancy, new mom, kids one for for vitality. I first met my business partner Anna when she hired me to be her doula. I had known her husband Ted for years as he was a former body worker client of mine. Anna and I immediately connected and became fast friends and Ted said you should both do a business together. I had been making fertility smoothie blends for clients that were trying to conceive for a while and they were all getting pregnant. One of them was a celebrity client and she blogged about it and it went viral and everyone was drinking the smoothie. So Anna and I decided to make that recipe into a smoothie blend. Everything I do is about building a solid foundation. I had a mom to be coaching program called rooted for life and was always drawn to the seed of life symbol. So we called our company Seedlyfe. I am the creative one and Anna is the business one together we are a perfect match. Everyday I am in so much gratitude for her!
