We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lorenzo Taddei . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lorenzo below.
Lorenzo , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Have you been able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen? Was it like that from day one? If not, what were some of the major steps and milestones and do you think you could have sped up the process somehow knowing what you know now?
As a musician originally from Rome, Italy now living and working in Los Angeles as a touring and session guitarist and producer, I can proudly say that I have been able to earn a full-time living from my creative work. However, it wasn’t an overnight success, and my journey had its share of challenges and milestones that shaped my career.
My passion for music started at a young age, and I was determined to turn it into a profession. After graduating from the Conservatory in Rome, I decided to take a leap of faith and move to Boston to study at Berklee College of Music. There, I had the pleasure to get to know some of the best musicians in the world, learn from them and work with them. Luckily, I can say I don’t have regrets regarding my musical path: every encounter, show, session I have done so far was so special to me and made me who I am today

Lorenzo , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a session and touring guitarist and producer. I had the honor to go on tour with artists such as Thomas Headon, and work with the most talented emerging artist in Los Angeles both as a guitarist and producer.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I feel like making music for me is all about be free to express myself, and to do it with people I admire and trust. I like to share the path with other people, and I also like to always try something new from the day before.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Having done 10 years of Conservatory before actually moving to the states. That was a pretty resilient time for me! Jokes aside, I feel lucky to have done that experience because I learnt a lot and it is also what prepared me to win awards such as “Secondo Concorso Chitarristico Cittá di Celano.”
