We recently connected with Lorenzo Mores and have shared our conversation below.
Lorenzo, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
Drawing has always been my biggest passion, as far as I remember my favourite game as a kid was to grab a piece of paper and ask someone: what can I draw for you? Growing up I attended a arts hIgh school, where I learned new techniques and I’ve discovered architecture for the first time, a passion that allowed me to combine technical work and creativity and that still gives me a lot of satisfaction.

Lorenzo, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I was born and raised in Italy, where I also did my architecture studies and where I started working. During all my life I’ve always wanted to find time to express my creativity, through different materials and techniques, trying to experiment as much as possible, creating art of all kinds, participating to art competitions and small exhibitions.
Now I live in Germany and I’m a architect. I work mostly on existing building, that means I like to have small projects of renovations, reuses, extensions and so on. I think that working on projects of this size allows me to act locally, to be part of a scene, a community where I can have a special relatioship with the people around me and with the clients.
I am very happy to have a job that demands a lot of creativity, but in spite of this I still feel artistic needs to be fulfilled and therefore I continue to draw and paint constantly in my spare time, having fun with canvases and colors

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me to have the need to express myself artistically represents a clear way to pursue a research. About myself, about life, or whatever other research I want to do, being a creative means that I certainly don’t know the end, but I know the means.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Creative expression for me is like a natural need that has no end goal except precisely to express itself.
