Alright, Lorenzo thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
The journey of learning and creative expression is a profound and enduring process that seems to commence as soon as our consciousness awakens. It’s the art of internalizing the world around us, forging connections with our thoughts, emotions, and sentiments, and then skillfully rearranging them into a work of art. In my personal experience, this transformation coincided with my pursuit of instruments that resonated with me. They served as a conduit, allowing me to translate my innermost musings into art, providing the means to express my thoughts and emotions in their fullest glory. As a child, it was essential for me to immerse myself in play, to take a seat behind the drums and revel in the joy of making sounds without any formal understanding of what I was doing. I had the freedom to explore music on my terms, unburdened by pre-conceived, institutionalized notions of how it should be done. This formative period allowed me to stay true to my unique creative thoughts and to nurture a sense of self-assuredness. I quickly realized that preserving this authenticity was vital to discovering my own artistic voice.
The journey to embracing one’s true self and cultivating a distinct artistic identity is often a challenging and lengthy one. It requires a significant degree of self-awareness and profound introspection. It’s a path marked by moments of deep reflection, a process of discovering who we truly are and what we want to express. Yet, through this introspective journey, I found myself, my unique voice, and my creative purpose, which has become the cornerstone of my artistic journey

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
From the earliest days, I found myself inexorably drawn to the enchanting world of sound. I was ensnared by the myriad ways in which it had the power to convey the most intricate of emotions and the simplest of sensations. It was as if a silent symphony surrounded me, and I yearned to decipher its melodic language. This magnetic pull led me to an affair with the natural world’s voices—the delicate serenades of birds at dawn, the rhythmic percussion of ocean waves, the gentle whispers of the wind, and the rustling lullaby of leaves gently descending from their arboreal homes
It was not long before my infatuation with these elemental harmonies evolved into a full-fledged passion for music, an art form that allowed me to mold my own emotional narratives and convey the depths of my soul.
Born in Rosario, Argentina in 2002, I embarked on a lifelong musical journey that has shaped me into who I am today. Music has been my constant companion since childhood, surrounded by the rhythms of funk, rock, and punk. However, my thirst for musical exploration quickly led me down a diverse path, delving into the realms of Jazz, Hip Hop, R&B, and soul.
Located in Buenos Aires for a few years this vibrant city opened its doors to the jazz, indie, and hip hop scene, where I connected with numerous artists, performed live shows, recorded two jazz albums, various records and embarked on tours across different cities of the country. During this period, I established my identity as a sessionist, with a focus spanning across various genres, including jazz, hip hop, instrumental music, and neo-soul.
Upon my arrival in Buenos Aires, I was honored to receive a scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. In addition, I became a part of the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation, an organization dedicated to nurturing the dreams of musicians and artists worldwide. Since 2021, I have been privileged to receive scholarships and participate in events and performances in Boston,Miami and New York, thanks to this foundation.
In 2021, I relocated to Boston to continue my studies at Berklee, where I am currently pursuing dual majors in Independent Recording and Production and Jazz Performance, with a minor in Electronic Performance. I was fortunate to be a part of the Berklee Jazz and Gender Institute, led by Terry Lyne Carrington, and received instruction from esteemed faculty members such as Linda May Oh, Edmar Colon, Nicholas Payton, Jacques Schwartz Bart, Phil Grenadier, and Ian Froman, among others.
Since my arrival in the United States, I have actively participated in various projects as an instrumentalist and session musician, spanning the realms of jazz, hip hop, neo-soul, and electronic music. My contributions to international artists’ albums, including recording and production, have marked a significant chapter in my musical journey. I’ve also graced stages in Boston, New York, Miami, and along the East Coast, collaborating with young and emerging talents.
Presently, my artistic journey is taking an exciting turn as I work with diverse artists in the recording, production, and composition of their albums. Concurrently, I am diligently crafting my own album, slated for release next year. This forthcoming project is a fusion of hip hop, jazz, and electronic music, drawing inspiration from the likes of Taylor McFerrin, Radiohead, Flying Lotus, and Kendrick Lamar. In this endeavor, my primary focus is on exploring my compositional and production skills, experimenting with sound design, synths, keyboard arrangements, drum programming, and various techniques. Through this album, I aim to express my inner voice and convey my perspectives on the world we inhabit.
My overarching aspiration is to use music as a powerful medium of connection, a tool for representing the profound bond that unites us all. In this endeavor, I aim to create an immersive sonic palette, seamlessly blending electronic and acoustic elements to resonate deeply with myself and the listeners. My music is intended to serve as a vehicle for self-awareness and exploration, fostering a space where ideas and thoughts about our world can be communicated and shared. Ultimately, my mission is to evoke a sense of unity and understanding through my artistry, reminding us of the inherent connections that often go unnoticed in our busy lives.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I embarked upon a profound journey of unlearning, to liberate myself from the shackles of conventional wisdom. Throughout the tapestry of my life, I had been ceaselessly nourished with a diet of prescribed knowledge, a steady stream of beliefs, opinions, and behavioral doctrines. The educational machinery, deeply ingrained within our societal framework, operates as a formidable agent of conformity, often cloaking our authentic needs and individual cogitations beneath its pervasive mantle. We find ourselves ensnared by the potent currents of this institutionalized education, a system that threatens to truncate the wings of our innate creative instincts and the luminous faculties of our consciousness. It conditions us to walk predefined paths, to compose music within set boundaries, and to enact our existence following a script written by others. This compliance exacts a toll on our intuitive compass and obscures the radiant light of self-awareness.
In seeking conformity, we risk detachment from our authentic selves and the profound wisdom harbored within. Our instincts, that primal chorus of intuition, the ethereal voice of consciousness, becomes marginalized and muted. To liberate the imprisoned individuality from the confinement of societal expectations and nurture the blossoming of unique perspectives and original thoughts.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Indeed, as previously mentioned, I perceive music as a profound medium, a conduit through which I navigate the intricate currents of self-expression. It serves as a vessel for conveying facets of my inner world, harmonies that I hope will strike a resonant chord within others. Through this, I endeavor to share not merely my personal experiences but, more profoundly, the thoughts and musings that go through my mind on a daily basis, compelling me to disseminate them to a wider audience. It is not so much a disclosure of my life’s chronicles, but rather a manifestation of the ideas and emotional landscapes that unfold within me, in the current surroundings that I am living.
There are few places in the world that I believe to reach and unite people , making us realize the underlying connection that exists between each other, and music is one of those.
