Lorene, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
I hope that my legacy will be that I inspired others to believe in their dreams. To stay the course and never give up. Believe that all things are possible with God on your side. To work hard, travel and live each day and capture every moment.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Hello my name is Lorene Bromfield. I am from Atlanta, GA. I am a retired educator. I am writer and motivational mentor. I am the mother of three amazing daughters, which I am very happy to say have made me proud. Being a parent is the most challenging role in a lifetime, because it requires complete 100% total responsibility of another life. It has been my greatest reward! I grew up with six other siblings who helped to raise me after loosing my parents at an early age. I allowed this experience to shape me by surrounding myself with opportunities and people that would shape my life. my inspiration came through my teachers, church, and family. Today I share these same ideas also help encourage others. “Thessalonians 5:11-
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up.” This is my inspiration to help others,
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
The story that I want to share that illustrates my resilience is my story of being a breast cancer survivor. Prior to the Pandemic at the start of January 2020 I met with my oncologist and she gave me the news that I had early stage breast cancer. Hearing the C word of course was a frightening scare, one in which I was NOT prepared to hear. But then again… I thought is anyone EVER prepared to hear that they have any form of cancer. I immediately went into actively preparing myself and my family for the news from my doctor. By mid summer of that year I had undergone 21 rounds of radiation at The Emory Winship Cancer Institute in Atlanta. After completing my treatments and beginning a 5 year Cancer medication, my recent reports of Cancer have been positive that I no longer show cancer cells. Today I advocate and speak out encourage women to keep their mammograms and follow-up each year. Supporting causes to help others fight this disease is gratifying as I encourage others through my journe7 and testimony. Early detection is the key!
