This impactful quote became my guiding force as I stood at the edge of a major life shift seven years ago. After three years of launching the first Spanish-language newscast in Southwest Florida and wearing various hats in the news industry, I felt the need for change and expansion.
Following my intuition and life’s whispers, I courageously opted to depart from the familiar landscape of Southwest Florida. Accepting and embracing the role of News Anchor for Telemundo Austin, I embarked on a journey into the unknown without my support network. Leaving behind loved ones, close friends, and the sunny shores of my past, I arrived in Austin with just three suitcases. Within these suitcases lay not only my belongings but also the weight of uncertainty, fear, and solitude, along with the dreams and aspirations that gave me strength.
Amidst the whirlwind of change, Austin became the backdrop for my reinvention. The journey wasn’t without challenges, but with unwavering perseverance, I scaled new heights of success, both professionally and personally. The risk I took seven years ago marked the start of a transformative journey, leading to significant professional triumphs. This includes the honor of becoming an Emmy Award-winning journalist and undertaking leadership roles for esteemed organizations in central Texas. I had the privilege of serving as the master of ceremonies for distinguished entities such as the Austin Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, among others. Additionally, my commitment extended to volunteering as a board member for the Alzheimer’s Capital of Texas for over three years. It was an honor to be recognized as the News Personality of the Year from the Alliance for Women in Media for the second consecutive time.
The ultimate reward was earning the unwavering respect, genuine affection, and deep appreciation of our viewers.
During the final year of my contract in 2022, life took an unexpected turn as I became engaged to my fiancée, sparking a master plan and vision for our future together. It felt like divine timing, reminding me of the importance of trusting my instincts when making significant life decisions.
In the heart of Austin, I not only achieved professional success but also embarked on a heartwarming love story, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter with my husband. This journey illustrates that taking risks can shape both career milestones and deeply fulfilling personal chapters
My journalism journey has been a dream come true, reaching heights that many would consider a lifetime achievement. The notion of stepping out of the spotlight over a year ago, following relentless dedication and unwavering commitment, seemed almost surreal. Yet, intuitively, I recognized the call to pursue new dreams that resonated deeply with my soul.
As you can imagine, this transition was far from easy and it became an emotional journey. My career was more than just a job, it represented my mission of helping others through relevant information and uplifting the Hispanic community. Realizing that priorities can shift over time, I bravely took my second major risk by stepping away from the news industry to focus on family and pursue personal projects aligned with my mission of helping others and providing value. It took immense courage to let go of a decade-long commitment and, in a way, mourn the identity of a news anchor I had passionately embodied over the years.
With compassion, I allowed myself to navigate a rollercoaster of emotions, leaving a part of me behind while discovering a stronger and resilient version of myself amidst life’s challenging twists and turns and daring leaps. Family, health, and my digital entrepreneurship took precedence as I maintained active engagement with our community across various social media platforms. My unwavering dedication to add value and connect with our community remain the driving force behind my endeavors.
Taking this second leap of faith led me to live epic adventures with my husband such us celebrating our breathtaking wedding in Cancún, México, and travel the world for a whole year. It also provided more time for friends and family and allowed the expansion of my online digital business while helping others.
In this new chapter, I’ve learned that avoiding risks stifles not only personal growth but also the potential for transformative opportunities. Embracing risks doesn’t just open doors; it flings them wide,
revealing new possibilities and increasing the likelihood of achieving extraordinary success and more abundance, both for yourself and your family.
