We recently connected with Loren Smith and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Loren thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
Many led to our current story. The moment I found clarity on what I wanted to do in my career path. I had been an athlete my entire life, and by the time I graduated from college, knowing my identity was no longer in sports, it was a confusing time. But there was a moment where great clarity happened and i knew my calling was in helping people heal, and chiropractic was the gateway for that. It was a very spiritual moment. I had never felt so certain in anything in my life, even though I knew going through chiropractic school and attaining a doctorate would be challenging, the challenge felt exciting because it was backed with clarity. And life has unfolded in ways beyond what I could dream of since that moment. Not only do we own a healing center that has facilitated numerous healings and transformations in our community, but we get to do it alongside family. (REV was started by my brother and sister-in-law Drs. Matt and Monica Smith about 8 years ago. Then me and my wife, Dr Erica Rodgers joined 4 years ago. And Monicas sister is on the team, Stephani Stotz, and her husband is also a chiropractor on our team, Dr. Bryan Stotz.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
REV Optimal Living is a dedicated healing center committed to enhancing your body’s innate healing capabilities. We firmly believe in the body’s natural ability to heal itself when provided with the optimal environment. Central to our approach is Nervous System Regulation, a focus that enables individuals to break free from patterns of pain, anxiety, and overwhelm.
By addressing and integrating accumulated stress patterns, our clients experience profound transformations. With a regulated nervous system, the body can heal, thrive, and become more resilient to life’s challenges. Our success lies not only in alleviating pain and overcoming obstacles but also in the profound shifts our clients experience in their daily lives.
Time and again, we witness our clients embrace a newfound sense of presence, calmness, and adaptability to life’s stressors. At REV, our goal is not just healing; it’s empowering individuals to live their fullest, most vibrant lives.
Not only is our approach to healing unique, but I also believe that the fact we are a family-run business can be felt the moment you walk through our doors or meet any one of us in the community.
We are also very community-focused. Recognizing that people can feel isolated on their healing journey, we make it a point to provide numerous opportunities for connection. From our annual cold plunge to collaborative efforts with non-profits, such as hosting events like cornhole tournaments and chili cook-offs, we aim to foster a sense of belonging and support. Additionally, we offer educational classes on stress management tools, movement techniques, mindset training, breathwork, nutrition, and more. To further enhance community engagement, we have organized guided hiking experiences, providing an opportunity for members to connect with nature and each other on a deeper level. This holistic approach reflects our commitment to building a vibrant and connected community.
One of my favorite parts about being in this career is getting to witness people feeling a renewed sense of hope and possibility for their future.
Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
A mentor once shared with me a profound insight: regardless of your pursuits in life, your success hinges on your inner growth. Essentially, it’s about consistently engaging in deep introspection, striving to evolve, learn, and cultivate greater consciousness every day. Taking radical responsibility for what happens in your life is an empowering experience, you can’t grow in business if you have a victim mentality.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
An inspired team fosters greater action. Learning how to make each team member feel truly valued is crucial, along with cultivating a shared vision of how each member contributes to achieving our collective goals.
