We were lucky to catch up with LOREN MICHAELS HARRIS recently and have shared our conversation below.
LOREN, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you tell us about a time that your work has been misunderstood? Why do you think it happened and did any interesting insights emerge from the experience?
This was a huge learning curve for me, early in my career as an influencer. There were just so many times that people that I would either be collaborating with, or creating something or the other with, would mistake my passion, my fiercely protecting my vision(s) with anger or either they would consider me ‘difficult to work with’. I may have been a bit of both, but primarily those situations were usually driven by my ‘knowing’ what the vision clearly was, as it was my vision, wherein the other person/people had a different vision altogether.
I’ve learned however; that sometimes we all need to be reminded that we must always leave room to bend to the will of what we believe is greater than ourselves, whatever that is that we know we are literally ‘co-creating’ with. When I do this, things work out much better for all involved, not just for myself.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I found my way into the world of influencing from an opportunity that scared the crap out of me! I was asked to audition for a traveling tour that featured people from the communities they visited, speaking about their particular journey with ‘Motherhood’. This show, “Listen To Your Mother”, had previous to the year I auditioned, been primarily focused on those stories of motherhood from women, of course. This particular year, however; the tour was seeking men who had their own stories of motherhood, and that was the very first time I shared my ‘shame story’ of having had 22 mothers while in Foster Care.
Sharing my story that night in front of 400 people in a High School auditorium in St. Joseph, Michigan, was the true catalyst for the change my journey required for me to move forward in my life, and began the process for me of being of service to others and seeking purposefully, my Divine Gifts that would enable me to ease suffering in the world in my own small way.
Today, in various ways; I encourage millions of people on a daily basis to simply honor their scars, remember themselves to the stories of how they received those scars, and then pray that they find the courage to heal others from what they have learned about themselves.
I have an elite 1:1 coaching program entitled; p3: The Journey Series, wherein I work intensively with high performers who have been navigating within the Divine Purpose for quite some time, however; they still desire a level of accomplishment that they have yet to achieve. I get them to those places they previously were falling short of reaching.
I also have an annual event by the name of “The Power of We Symposium”. POW focuses on young people between the ages of 12 and 24 years of age. I feel that this season is the most important season within our journey. This season is when most of us decide a large percentage of the decisions that will eventually dictate the eventual journey we will leave this world with. We provide an experience designed to show these young people we serve, how much we love them, how much we respect them, and how valuable what they have to say is, and we remind them that they truly are the future of this world and are capable of achieving great things!
I also own a television network; “Trajectory TV”, and a companion magazine as well; “Trajectory Magazine”. Both of these brands promise the world, “Content with Direction”. I love finding raw talent and then assisting in the growth and development of that talent. I believe that television is the greatest resource for getting incredible life-changing ideas and concepts into the hands and minds of the people who need hope the most.
And finally, I am the host of a 5-day-per-week, 50 weeks per-year morning television show; “Bathrobe Moments”. In its 6th year currently, Bathrobe Moments provides a safe and sacred space each morning at 8 am CST for viewers from around the globe to join forces and begin (or finish) their days in such a way that they begin to live within every moment and not simply occasional moments of complete self-fulfillment. I accomplish this through a variety of amazing show guests who share their stories via illuminated conversation.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Around 3 weeks after locating my birth family after 12 years of dead-end searching, I found myself in a deeper state of cellular depression than ever before in my journey. I sought help by scheduling an appointment with a Psychiatrist, within 15 minutes of arriving at that appointment, I was being handed a prescription for lithium and told that I would most likely be on this medication for the rest of my life. I ran out, refusing the medication, only to find myself not 30 days later deeply submerged in what would eventually be…, a 14-year addiction to crack cocaine.
Those 14 years were the darkest of my journey but were also the most productive in the long run. During my time within my addiction, I was exposed to example upon example of what I would choose eventually to never become! I am the man I am today due to my decision to never be the man I once was…, ever again.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Of course, there is…, Lol I would have quit or given up decades ago if there were not a particular goal/mission driving my creative journey.
The driving force behind my creative journey is what I refer to as Legacy. For me, personally speaking; Legacy is not simply comprised of leaving behind monetary value or vast amounts of wealth, but rather leaving the imprint of your life’s work, an imprint that will continue to have an impact of healing and growth upon the world for hundreds of years to come.
