Loren, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
Some moments stand still like this one did for me. Monday, December 16th, at exactly 10:26 AM.
Pre-holiday cheer, at 56, handing my resignation without a plan, but with a knowing I was never going back,
After more than +30 years in corporate, the youngest VP ever at J. Walter Thompson and top executive recruiter, I couldn’t unsee what I saw with the age-old broken hiring system.
I know I was not the first or the last to see it — but it was how I saw it, at what felt like warped speed. that drove me to launch of PortfolioRocket.
The certainty behind why this idea would work came from years in the trenches — as the middle woman between the 1% of candidates and decision makers at Fortune 50, 100, enterprise, DTC and start-ups.

Most parlay their industry expertise to move to recruiting. and in my case because of my marketing and design experience, I was recruited to recruit.
I was a very strong recruiter but limited in terms of how much I could help my candidates due to the transactional nature of this type of hiring and the large volume of reqs to juggle. Recruiters don’t dive deep into your values, WHY or other factors that drive long term fulfillment.
Rarely if ever do recruiters encourage candidates to build their own networking pipeline for unposted opportunities either.
