We were lucky to catch up with Loove Moore recently and have shared our conversation below.

Loove, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.

My entire artistic career has been taking a big risk. First I have to risk failure to become successful. I also risk looking stupid and being judged for being an individual with a unique style and philosophy in life.

When it comes to making music & being a cultural influencer I had to risk my job making good money as an electrician working on the chase center to center myself and chase my dreams. I left the job one day on the clock and decided to begin my community interview series “Loove At The Lake” where I interviewed people walking around lake Merritt in Oakland California in hopes of introducing the community to each other and sharing perspectives on social topics. I also gave local artist a platform to perform their music by bringing out my speaker and microphone that I purchased with my last money saved.

I had hella high Bay Area rent to pay and other bills but I decided to bet on me and follow my calling / purpose to bring a positive vibe to my area and it payed off by landing me with multiple media coverage and a national spot on the SF Chronicle’s STYLE front cover .

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is inspiring someone else from my story. Anytime someone can learn and grow from things that I’ve learned and grew from it makes the struggles I’ve survived worth it !

How did you build your audience on social media?

I built my audience with consistency and authenticity. I post raw and real stories from my unique perspective with minimal editing so that my audience can feel how reel my experiences are and it really sets me apart from anyone else. Im always and advocate for expressing and embracing our own individuality.
