Lonielle, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
The Bakerś Wick Candle Co. is the name of my business. It stems from the passion I have for all things sweet treats and other alluring scents that invigorates a home. From classic aromas like musk and tonka bean to bold notes of black currant and vetiver, our candles and wax melts are uniquely blended.

The Bakers’Wick Candle Co. (BWCC) has a variety of home essentials such as wooden wick candles, room/linen mist and reed diffusers. New to the collection are the body care items, sugar scrubs, milk bath and shower steamers, which allow you to relax and unwind with natural ingredients that elevate your self-care experience.
We provide our BWCC customers the opportunity to shop via e-commerce with next day shipping or in person at local farmers market in the Miami, FL area.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
As a solo entrepreneur who has a full-time career in healthcare, there has been countless events where I show resilience. When the pandemic started, I struggled on whether to continue my business as the cases began to rise in the hospital where I am employed. Finding a balance to feed my passion while fulfilling my duty as an essential clinician was challenging. It was only after seeking counsel from family and friends that made me realize that my business provided them comfort and joy in a very trivial time.

I used an email marketing tool (Constant Contact) to gather clients and keep them abreast of happenings with my brand. Social media is a good tool for a wider audience however building an email list garners loyalty and the VIP treatment on exclusive releases and offers.
