Alright, Londun thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
My sister and co-owner Fatima Jones came up with the name HyperFem. I fell in love with the name instantly and our journey began.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Londun Allen and I am the cofounder of HyperFem LLC.
HyperFem is a fashion & wellness lifestyle brand that was inspired by the visions of two sisters with two distinct personalities, one bold and edgy (hype), and the other girly and feminine (fem).
The HyperFem woman is a multifaceted woman who is equal parts bold, sexy, demure, feminine and edgy. She is smart, sophisticated, confident, and engaged in her community.
I am also a wardrobe stylist and Production assistant with 5+ years experience under my belt.
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
This one is easy! My cofounder and business partner is my older sister, Fatima Jones. She is legit my best friend.
We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
Our wellness products started in 2020 when I decided to look into making my own body scrub. I had the idea to infuse actual flowers and herbs into the scrubs and made my first batch and tested them on my friends. Once we had the body scrub down, body oils, bath soaks, candles and the rest of the line wellness came to be.
