We were lucky to catch up with LOMA JONES recently and have shared our conversation below.
LOMA, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you scale up? What were the strategies, tactics, meaningful moments, twists/turns, obstacles, mistakes along the way? The world needs to hear more realistic, actionable stories about this critical part of the business building journey. Tell us your scaling up story – bring us along so we can understand what it was like making the decisions you had, implementing the strategies/tactics etc.
My business is still growing, but I will say its in the best shape of its life. I am more eager now to advance my skill which makes me more and more excited to work! I spend a lot of time coming up with ideas and advancements for my company. I want to make Loso Lens the standard for great customer service and great memories.
It has taken me a long time to understand that I wont have a million dollars overnight or be a household name in a year without some type of miracle, which as a small business owner you basically pray for on the daily, but it takes work, mistakes, and a whole lot of lessons.
Sometimes we get so caught up in the success in others we forget just how much work it takes to become successful. I have had my feelings hurt while doing business and had to learn so much along the way. As long as you are learning and want to keep going your business will be a success.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Loso Lens Photography is a love driven wedding photography company. We service our couples from the moment they fall in love, all the way to their anniversary celebrations. We focus on getting to know our clients and what their dream day looks like so we can capture their fairytale exactly how they want to remember it forever. We live for the natural and subtle moments where you and the love of your life are simply existing in your own story.
We also focus on lifestyle, capturing our customers in their true essence is always our main goal- whatever that looks like to them is how we want to portray them! Their desires come first and we love to cater to who they are. I am a woman-owned, LatinX-owned company and I am so proud of that. Not to knock men but often women are the main focus on the lens and eve more often they do not have a safe space to be filmed in. I make safety and love a priority for my business!

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
Family. Myself and family. I had a dream during the pandemic that I could create a career out of something that I love, that people would also love. My family has supported me endlessly in my endeavors and for that I am truly grateful. I work very hard as a small business owner, there is never a real day off, and there is always improvement to be made.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
So far social media has helped me the most! I am listed on several platforms and I have even become a part of a wedding network that helps small business owners display their work.
