Lolah , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with what makes profitability in your industry a challenge – what would you say is the biggest challenge?
The biggest challenge with profitability in the self publish author industry is the constant changes in the industry. Since I’ve been self published for over 10 years, I have witnessed the industry change over time. It seems it is more difficult to get your books out to the public, even though there are many avenues to do so. Because self publishing is so easy the market is oversaturated with a plethora of books in various genres making it hard for readers to find you. Without a marketing team it seems very difficult to get your work out to the masses. So building a readership has become very challenging but also a part of the business.

Lolah , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I became a romance author after I was having a hard time selling a screenplay. I started off as a screenplay writer. After a few years of not being able to get an agent or sell a script, I decided to write a novel. First, I bought every book on the market about writing a novel. I quickly learned that is was different from writing a screenplay. I learned the ins and outs of self publishing. When the novel took off I decided to stick with writing romance. I believe what sets me apart from other romance authors is my storytelling and witty dialogue. I am most proud of the Author business that I built on my own one day at a time. I feel my readers value the depth and emotion that I put in my novels.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My mission is to write heartfelt books that entertain and move readers. It has always been my goal to take my publishing company to the next level. I hope in the future I will be able to help other authors, publish books. It has always been my journey to share my work with the public. Recently, I’ve started back screenwriting, and I have gotten one of my scripts produced. Because my first goal was to get a movie made now that I finally have. I feel like my creative journey has just begun.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Over the course of years, I have Been building my social media presence. My advice for someone trying to build a social media presence is to be consistent. It is important to be yourself and showcase your talent and show some of your day-to-day life. It is important to be real and accessible to the people who are consuming your product.
